I was just making my entry for the Bowl Challenge on E$PN and was wondering if the TKP group was still in effect for this year. Or we could create a new group if we want to start fresh.

I'm trying to join, but password.
Sorry. I fell asleep on this one.

It's a confidence pool (rank the games by how confident you are...and this worth more points).
Thanks man
Time to repeat
EDIT: Also, why the change from Yahoo to ESPN?
Apparently I'm computer illiterate, and I created two entries.
Doubling your odds... nice!
well I only filled out the second
Just bumping this back up. We've got A LOT of folks signed up...
...but if you still want to join, do so quickly, the first game is Saturday.
I admit I created two entries. One in order of the bowls and the other normal.
Same. One is legit. The other called "#GOACC" is all ACC winners, teams we played (or played in prior yrs), SEC all losing, etc. It will probably be my better one.
ok, I feel stupid for asking, but I'm gonna anyway. With confidence, is #1 assigning a weight of 1 (so, least confident) or assigning a weight of 39 (most confident)
Correct. The more confident, the more points.
you just replied correct to an either or question. Let's try this again.
If I'm supremely confident that Tech will beat cinci, do I move them up to the top of the list (spot #1)?
Thank you. That was ever so helpful. Apparently I can't read, but quoting the post again is going to fix my issue.
When doing a weighted pick, it would make the most sense to put the number of points you would get for your pick next to said pick, which would put tech vs cinci at the bottom of the list (#39). But, the column header isn't "points" it's "confidence." So it could just as easily be saying "rank these in terms of confidence, with your most confident at the top of the list at spot #1"
since I've never done a confidence pick on espn before I'd appreciate a straightforward answer to my question so I don't end up getting 1 point for my most confident pick and losing 39 for my complete BS shot in the dark pick.
It seemed to be a pretty accurate answer, regardless of the only slightly ambiguous "correct" that you dwelled on. I'm not doing the Pick-em, but that description, as with every other confidence one I've done, would lead me to believe you assign more points/confidence to the one you are most sure about. You get points for the ones you get right. So the ones you are most sure about, assign the most points/confidence to them so that you get more points. It seems you know exactly how it works and when explained to you in a manner that uses the word "points" instead of "confidence," you get confused. Just use the words interchangeably and I think you'll get it.
He is clearly asking if he puts VT at spot # 1 or spot #38. Does #38 give you 38 points, or does the number 1 spot mean that is your top pick? The answer to his question should be a simple #38 or #1. If you don't know, don't answer.
I personally don't do this, so I can't be of help with the question.
If you are supremely confident, weight it with 39 points. If you feel its the tossup of all tossups only weight it one point
As an impartial observer of this subthread, it looks like you swooped in and saved the day here for hokie07ME
/sarcastica?
A little, but not a lot. I've never done a confidence poll either, so your initial question was one I had an interest in. I read the responses to you and still didn't get it. Then I read Alum07 and understood. Maybe I should have pointed out that he swooped in and saved the day for me, too.
guess I'm just too particular with my wording. I just put in two entries with completely opposite rankings so one of them will be what I wanted in the first place. Or I could win twice when I get all my picks correct!
#sources:
"Pick the winner of each game during the bowl season (including the College Football Playoff national championship game), then rank the games in the order of your confidence in those picks. For each correct pick, you'll earn the confidence points you assigned to that game."
Which means your most confident and highest point value selection (VT) will be at the bottom of the list as you are looking at the page, with a 39 next to it (as VT cannot lose).

I am a proud enough Hokie to admit, I did not put Tech with 39 points...
I'm in
im in like a uva fan at a book club
Book club, football game, it's all the same to them
I'm in it to win it!!... hehehe... I'm terrible at this stuff.
Watching the Nevada game on ESPN3 I find this strange urge to buy a car at Joyce Koons Honda. No idea why...
Those blue Air Force unis on the smurf turf -- it's like watching directional Michigan play an invisible team.
Probably going to jinx myself, but damn, I'm actually doing well so far! Got my #1 pick right and everything!
