The 12-yard QB "sneak".

There is nothing in the world like Thursday night in Blacksburg!

May as well, Arizona is already locked into their playoff spot (short of a seahawk collapse) so they should try to get him some meaningful reps if he ends up being their qb of the future or at least a quality back-up.

I can imagine no more rewarding a career. And any man who may be asked in this century what he did to make his life worthwhile, I think can respond with a good deal of pride and satisfaction:

Thank God cause Ryan Lindley was a pain to watch last night

@CaptKirkVT10

To be fair, against the Seahawk defense? You wouldn't have wanted LT in for that one. He's much better having only played a small bit.

Lindley's career stats are 0 TDs and 8 interceptions. He is terrible.

In Sam Rogers we trust.

What did you think LT would have done against Seattle? His other game produced one pass for a TD that looked good, but after that...

Objectively, key word there, LT is much better starting against anyone other than Seattle. Bruce Arians evidently thought that. He had every chance to start LT, but made the reach for the other guy instead.

I agree with you that starting Lindley was probably the smart move but I doubt Logan could have done worse than he did. I just think that if Logan does at least average on Sunday I have a tough time seeing with them not go with Logan until Stanton comes back.

In Sam Rogers we trust.

There were at least three or four drives during that game where if they had inserted Logan, they could have at least extended drives. They failed to convert at least four 3rd and 1 or less which if they put Logan under center there is a good likelihood he could have converted, instead they tried handing it off to a running back who was starting six yards in the backfield against the speed of the Seahawks defense, BamBam Kam stopped two of the attempts himself by coming off the edge to drag the runner down. I am not saying it would have changed the end result, but the game likely would have been alot closer if Arizona's defense was given adequate time to rest. Arizona only had one offensive possession longer than two minutes in the second half and that was only a bit over four minutes.

I am not saying Logan would have fared better in the passing game than Lindley, but the threat to run, especially when the score was 14-6 early in the second half might have made a difference. Their defense was just out of gas by the fourth quarter which led to the three straight touchdowns for Seattle.

I think it would have been better to let young Logan go in there and sling the ball around and make mistakes. It would have been a great learning tool for him. I'm glad he's going to get a chance against SF at least

@CaptKirkVT10

When was the last time 2 different Hokies started at QB in one season? Ever?

Pretty sure the answer is never.

I think that is it, looks like only Strock, Druck, and Vick have ever started, grand company for LT3.

Will Furrer also started.

Tyrod started against Cinci last year.

The box score to both games only shows Flacco playing last year. Tyrod did play a lot in the 2012 finale against Cinci, but Flacco still got the start. I'm pretty sure Tyrod has never gotten a start.

Well that's it, I'm heading to B-more with a baseball bat./s

Just swing by on your way to Annapolis for the bowl game!

I stayed up waaaay too late waiting for the "LT6 packages".

Does pizza count as pie?!

I'm excited and scared for this at the same time. Could be a coming out party or could be a "See, we told you he sucked" kind of game.

"These people are losing their minds" - Mike Patrick

I would venture to guess it'll be the latter regardless of his performance on Sunday. Negative perceptions arise quickly and tend to die slow, painful deaths. For example, Tyrod still wasn't getting the credit he deserved from opposing/casual fans well into his senior year. So I would be glad to see Logan get the opportunity either way. Gotta be a dream come true; go big or go home!

Thomas' one play Sunday -- an incomplete pass in the second quarter -- wasn't part of the package Arizona prepared for him. Arians said once the Cardinals went down two scores, Thomas' package wasn't part of the game plan anymore.

This is kinda buried at the bottom, but pretty interesting. To me it sounds like the Logan package was going to be some QB running plays. Maybe we'll see more Logan running than I originally thought.

Arians said he'll have a quick hook with Thomas, even going as far as pulling the rookie during practice if he doesn't see the kind of progress with the starters that Arians has in mind.

According to this, Arians wants Logan to play, but it is not a definite. I hope Logan gets to play, because the way Arain made this statement makes me think this is Logan's big time audition, and if he can't even make it on stage...well Arian is going to be looking for another number three next year and it might be an uphill battle from the start for Logan to keep his job.

So I reckon the Cards didn't take up Jared Lorenzen's offer?

Give 'em hell, Logan!

Logan to start before Tyrod...what a world

Location, location, location...

I believe Flacco has never missed a game.

Flacco has the seventh-longest consecutive start streak for NFL quarterbacks in league history.

I would love to see what Chip Kelly could do with Tyrod.

Yep. Add to that the Super Bowl title on his resume, and the way he led the team in the playoff to get there, then consider the large contract, and it would be difficult for Flacco's backup to get PT no matter who it was, not just because it was Tyrod.

If Tyrod had been cut/waived/traded to the Browns prior to this season, he might have emerged as a surprise QB in the NFL. Or the Dolphins, maybe. Other cases, I am sure. It's just about how a guy fits into a team. That's a source of many untold stories, how a player got drafted by the wrong team, and never got a chance to shine. I'm not saying that happened with Tyrod, but it did, sort of. You've got to pity whoever is stuck behind Aaron Rogers & Drew Brees, for example. Those guys don't even need to wear pads. It's all part of the game...

Drew Brees I will give you, but Rodgers backup over his career has had to be ready. Mainly due to how bad their offensive line is but in 2013, backup QBs had 280 attempts compared to Rodgers 290 attempts after Rodgers broke his collarbone, and in most of his other years, Matt Flynn was his backup and consistently got 1 to 2 games worth of attempts (50-60 range). This year Flynn only has about 15 attempts though. With all the hits Rodgers has taken in his relatively short career thus far, I am amazed the man can actually still stand up.

Rodgers Sack total (Doesnt even touch how many he was hit)

2009 - 50
2010 - 31
2011 - 36
2012 - 51
2013 - 21 (only nine games due to injury on a sack)
2014 - 28

Figure that thats a minimum of about 2 sacks per game, going up to over 4 per game in 2012 and 2009. Amazing what he has accomplished taking that into account.

How long did Aaron Rodgers sit behind Favre before getting a shot? wasn't he drafted kinda low too?

Onward and upward

Rodgers was first round. One pick before the Redskins drafted Jason Campbell....... :^(

I mean, what does Arians see in Lindley that would make him have a quick trigger to pull LT3 this Sunday? Is it the 0 touchdowns he's thrown in his career? Or his amazing completion percentage?

Let the kid battle and ride it out even if the going gets tough. Any kind of experience he can gain would be vital with the playoff run looming.

Good luck Logan! I hope you do well in your first start!

Man, they got some defenses in that NFC West.

It will be interesting to see how San Francisco plays knowing that Harbaugh is no longer their coach a day or two after this last game. Also have to wonder how much effort Harbaugh and his staff are going to invest in this game. Only thing they might be playing for is to not have a losing record since they are 7-8 right now. Hopefully Logan does well.

Didn't Harbaugh just take the Niners to the SB 2 seasons ago, and the NFCCG last year? Why the hell did they drop him and where is he going?

He wears on people. Great coach but after a while players and the front office get sick of him. He could possibly be the next Bill Parcells.

In Sam Rogers we trust.

Personality issues. Apparently he and the front office keep rubbing each other the wrong way. He is by all accounts a very...intense individual.

As far as where he's going, that's the million dollar question. Latest rumors say either the Raiders or Michigan, but I've also heard the Dolphins and Bears, among others.

I don't think the Fins are in it any more, they announced they were retaining Philbin after the victory against the Vikings. Sounded like they were getting scared of the bidding war

Him and Trent Baalke bang heads on a lot of different issues and Baalke keeps leaking stuff to the press about his possible trade to the Browns last year and then the possibility of them not retaining him during the season this year. It's been a big mess for the Niners franchise and disheartening to watch unfold as a fan. I guess the organization forgets just how hard it is to find coaches of that caliber and when you do, you swallow your pride, make everyone get along in the sandbox and make it work.

I think both are in the upper echelon in the league and it sucks they can't work together. I REALLY like Baalke as a GM, he made a trade this year or the year before during the draft that was pretty brilliant in the 2nd or 3rd round where he dropped down further into the round with one team traded back up the very next pick, we still got the guy we wanted but netted an extra 4th round pick and gave up a 7th in the process after everything shook out. That's pretty much the definition of working the draft board

Rumor is that Michigan offered him their HC job.

Yes they did, with a $48M contract.

Must've had a bad week of practice.

. . . must be starting him at TE instead. Totally understandable.

"Vick, dashing back . . . here he comes again . . . Electrifying . . . and have you ever seen anything like this?"

Saving LT for the playoffs.

Have they tried reaching out to Mark Leal? And then maybe play Logan at TE..
