Due to my wife and her family being a bunch of !$-/$/.>]\{| I am going to be in Roanoke instead of Annapolis at the game. Any good recommendations for sports bars. We are staying at the double tree " hotel Roanoke".

I'd ease up around the holidays, and watch the game at Beamer's or Blue 5.
Hotel Roanoke has a good bar -- The Pine Room. You can also take a short ( and mostly covered) walk to downtown where there are quite a few bars many styles -- all within walking distance. Here's a map ... Hotel Roanoke is just to the east.
Zeke is Correct. Hotel roanoke is a short walk over the pedestrian bridge from all the Downtown Roanoke bars. If you don't go to the hotel bar. There is no shortage of them within 1-4 blocks. I was trying to pick a few that I fancy but the truth is I've been to all and few stick out more than other IMO. Maybe Beamers, Corned Beef & Co. The Quarter or Martin's would be to your liking.
In as few non-inflammatory words as possible, was this pre-planned or last-minute? [instant EDIT: if you don't mind, of course]
What these other guys say, right across the pedestrian bridge is downtown Roanoke.
PLaces that will probably have the volume on the TV for the game.
In the market, on the corner is Fork in the City.
If you ask, they will put the TV with volume on to the TV, if it's not already there.
The manager's name is A.J. if there's any question, ask for him.
Blue 5 has the best craft beer selection as well as lots of bourbon. Food is good.
They may not have the volume on at the bar. Manager there is Chaz. He'll probably put it on unless there's a party downstairs. Good bar to sit at and anywhere along the length of the bar has visibility to a TV behind the bar.
Jack Browns, on the pedestrian street will definitely have the game on and will turn on the volume if you ask.
Good burgers and excellent selection of beer. No hard liquor.
Those would be my 3 recommendations.
My two favorite places are Corned Beef and Jack Browns. If you go to Jack Browns, you will probably have to get there early (unless you don't mind standing) as there is limited seating. There's plenty of tvs and seating at Corned Beef, but either one is a solid place to watch the game!
