Best part of the pancakes was the 8 yds of syrup by Sam Rogers.
nice block by Farris too
Much awesomeness, thanks.
When Williams scooped the fumble I was yelling 'fat man touchdown!'....but Nigel looks like a chiseled thoroughbred so I stopped. I thought he had the gas to go all the way.
I think we may have found our short-yardage back: Nigel Williams in the Wild Turkey on 2nd and goal.

Everyone in my house was staring at me and wondering what the heck I meant by "fat man touchdown."
I got the same look when I said that, too. Of course, I was the only female in the room. On another note, who doesn't know what a fat man touchdown is?
I was watching the Nebraska - USC game and they overturned a fat man touchdown. It was a great screen pass thrown to the reporting offensive lineman as an eligible receiver and the lineman was definitely behind the line of scrimmage when he caught it. I became ridiculously irate for the overturning of the fat man touchdown and I had no dog in the fight, just knew that it was likely the only time in that guys career he was going to get to score a touchdown and to have it called back by replay just didnt sit right with my bourbon button.
I will never forgive the head linesman for making that call. WHO TAKES AWAY A FAT MAN TOUCHDOWN IN A BOWL GAME??? I know he's supposed to go with, "when in doubt, it's a forward pass," but c'mon man... it was super close (at the very least it looked sideways, so still not a forward pass), and IT WAS A FAT MAN TOUCHDOWN! Shame on you, head linesman. Shame on you.
Prob with that play is that replay was clear that the throw was released at the 15 & caught at the 16, so clearly backwards. I can understand the "when in doubt..." On the field, but replay decision was pathetic.
Considering the angle on the replay is tricky (no camera looking right down the line), I can understand them saying the play stands.
The camera was on the end zone side of the 15, with the qb closer to the camera. That angle biases the view towards being a forward pass (a throw that's perfectly perpendicular to the long axis of the field would look like it went slightly forward), so its pretty clear to me that it was a lateral.

It was a proud day in parenthood when my son and I said "Fat Man Touchdown!! at the same time"
I don't think I'll ever forget the night last winter when I was watching Duke and Wake playing basketball and my then 2 year old daughter walks in, looks at the tv, looks at me and says, "I wanna watch Hokies Daddy."
I kissed her forehead and said "they're playing on Saturday honey."
was it just me or did Gunner Kiel remind anyone else of....
Hey! That's me in the last GIF!
And Michael Shroyer!
Wyatt Teller has made more pancakes than any other lineman this season.
Than all others combined.

"Millions served"
Did their 3rd string QB step backwards with his front foot on that throw?
I am also happy to see Wyatt keeping his feet and driving through the smaller player instead of lunging at the DB
Shane looks like he's asking the person across the table at Thanksgiving if there are any drumsticks left
And Bud is responding with, "nope, only wings."
And Stroman found a hidden drumstick in the pile of Turkey for Shane. He was appreciative.
So happy that you got the chicken dance defense!
Can we talk about how damn athletic Nigel looks on that scoop and run?? Wow. Very impressive for a fat guy.
rule clarification: is wildly flinging the ball underhand while getting sacked really a forward pass? Looked like a fumble to me...
Not really different from a shovel pass. As long as the ball goes forward and there's some semblance of a throwing motion, it's a pass.
Yes it is. A forward pass doesn't have to be an overhand motion, you just have to deliberately get the ball moving forward. Now, whether or not it actually got back to the line of scrimmage or should have been intentional grounding is another matter.
I was wondering that. I did not see that ball getting back to the LOScrimmage.
It was about a yard short, but landed right at the LJ's feet. I guess he either forgot that he drifted upfield, or figured it was close enough to just call it a legal forward pass.
I can't stop watching the pancake gif. I want to have it just permanently playing in the corner of my computer screen. That defender was probably happy when he didn't get blocked by Bucky, but then he had his world crushed into the dirt.
Something about Shane getting doused with the water bucket just feels right... maybe not now but one day perhaps
I did like seeing that!
Did you notice there was still about a minute on the clock? I bet CFB was upset about that in the booth. I remember him saying he hates it when they celebrate before the clock says 0:00.
He also likes celebrating when the score says 0:0
Seriously...
I did notice that but I personally would give anyone in a bowl win getting the bucket early a pass. We weren't in the playoffs or the championship so it's feel good moment. I doubt Frank was very upset at all.
The pistols gif is by far my favorite....and I don't even know why..I just love it! lol.
If someone can Photoshop that into an upvote GIF, I will be forever grateful. I lack the time to do it myself...
That would be awesome! I would do it....but well....I'm computer illiterate...so..yea...
There are 250 days until football...it might happen.

EDIT: I was so excited about making this and saying "pyoo pyoo pyoo" to myself that I just realized the arrows aren't going up...oh well
ha ha...pyoo pyoo pyoo...you get a leg...
Nice!
That one-handed pick was a moment when I got out of my seat and yelled "Dayum!!". Great play
It was a big gamble too, if he goes for the pick and misses, that guy is off to the house.
agreed. Very athletic play by Chuck. Simply put our DB's give me a big stiffy when I think about next years defensive lineup.
