He's not. when he looked directly at the camera for a moment his expression was definitely a serious poker face. His cheeks' profile just makes it look a little like he's holding a laugh.

There's no way he stays. There's no way F$U wants him to stay. There's no way Winston wants to stay. He's more of a sure bet to chase the NFL than Johnny Football was...

Then we'll see the real Winston. Kid has a great upside in terms of talent, but every GM has to be more than a little concerned about "what if we pay him $5 mil signing bonus and he goes to prison before the end of the 1st season.

I find it very interesting just how offended FSU fans are today that Oregon players did this
If your police dept had done their job the first time around, and you hadn't circled the wagons defending a bunch of players who are acting outside the law with no consequence from those paid to do enforce laws, this wouldn't be an issue. FSU holds a pep rally last year during the announcement that no charges would be filed, and they don't want people to throw it back in their face when things go south?

I don't think the players should get anything more than a stern talking to, yet good sportsmanship is something we should all try to maintain when kicking the ass of someone else. Humility in wins and losses.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
i am a proponent of good sportsmanship but FSU had it coming. on a side note theres nothing better then 66,000 in lane doing the seminole war chant beatin them 40-21.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
I don't disagree that they had something coming to them, but I was taught to leave it on the field. I think a 40 point ass whipping on national television is comeuppance enough. And this was a personal taunt to a single player. Again not saying Winston doesn't deserve that or worse, but leave it for the fans. Players make statements in terms of touchdowns.
Just how I was taught to play the game

Winston deserved it, and F$U deserved it, because they have handed out similar for decades now. It's ironic how soft they are when they get curb stomped & whimper about such afterwards. There is no empathy for them. let them gag on it. Some others may have a hidden soft spot for F$U, but I do not. They're every bit as bad as Miami, and always were.

Players from other teams know that on their team, they likely would have been at home watching the game. Do you think that players from other teams haven't seen the privilege that Winston's been afforded and all of the other "look the other way" police investigating that happens when FSU players are involved? Yeah, they'd like to get away with that stuff, but they know that they can't. And before someone starts with the "this kind of thing happens on every team" stuff, remember that we're talking about the possible rape of a student. We're also talking about felony hit and run where both cars were totaled (not Winston, but another starter for FSU). This isn't free tats for giving the owner a signed jersey.

You're also talking about Dalvin Cook, who was implicated in a report for brandishing a firearm and committing aggravated assault last summer, but charges were never filed.

Man that 2010 team was awesome with how they rallied and ran the table on the ACC. That game in Charlotte was some freaking cold, but we were enjoying taking it to the noles so much that it didn't bother us one bit!

Yeah, I get that, but if you don't even bother to shake the hand of the guy who beat your ass down, don't sit back and whine when the winners kick you while you're down.
FSU players and fans have shown their true colors over the last 24 months. In my opinion, they've earned every little bit of the ridicule they're getting today. It's very well deserved.

Oh I completely agree about FSU walking off the field. Bunch of asshats. I saw someone else post that a players actions on the field represent their coaches mentality and I truly believe that.
But doing something like this just kind of gets down to FSU's level. be better than skrong, be strong.

It also shows the danger of this type of accusation. Whether he did it or not, as accused, for the rest of his life he'll be guilty.
The man will be the rappist with the Heisman regardless of judicial proceedings. The guy may be a hat but, he doesn't deserve the guilty designation when it hasn't occurred.

We don't know that it didn't occur. There were no charges filed, because the Tally PD butchered their investigation and evidence collection, to the point that nothing was admissible. In the end, he may be completely innocent. He also may have gotten away with rape, thanks to the help of the people who are paid to protect citizens from rapists.

And he'll be guilty his entire life because of it.
Whether there were no charges because it didn't happen, was sensationalized or because justice wasn't served.

You know what would have helped? The case being sent to trial and judged by a jury of his peers.
You know what didn't help? The Tally PD actively burying the case, and doing everything imaginable to make it go away from the start, and then to create a makeshift pep rally for FSU during the event where you say no charges were to be filed, and then jokingly talk about the alleged victim to the press.
Oh, and then the litany of further infractions and run ins he's had since that time don't really help his case in the public eye, either.

Not to mention Winston's post game comments: zero cred to Oregon, just "we beat ourselves". It's not like they had a lead and lost it. They were consistently trying to come back from being down 2 scores.

For the sake of the ACC I wanted FSU to win. For all of the programs that recruit, coach, and teach their players to do the right things I wanted an asteroid to fall on both teams.

I never have understood the mentality of cheering for the conference. Especially when the conference representative happens to be a sleazy face of most everything that is negative about college sports.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
Agree , and would like to know how FSU slime , winning a NC helps VT in any way. Take a look at recent recruiting losses to FSU. I , would like to see them lose every game they play.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
I cheer for the conference in games like this because the ACC shares bowl revenue $$$. If they made it to the next round more $$$ for da HOKIES. It's pure economics

Yeah, that's where Jimbo pretends he is a strict disciplinarian for all the parents of elite recruits & the media, while not actually doing anything to his star player, so the elite recruits themselves also get the unspoken message. You can tell he learned from Bobby Bowden.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
I like Jimbo, seems like a decent guy. But he sold his soul to the devil this year with protecting Winston. And the lack of class they showed after the game was icing on the cake. Too bad some of the Oregon players decided to go down a similar path.

This is the stuff that Winston does that pisses me off. I'm a Bucs fan, so obviously the entire fan base is in Winston vs. Mariota mode. I'm a huge Mariota fan. I think he's got all the tools and the same kinda head you find on your Andrew Lucks and your Russell Wilsons. Not saying he's as good as Luck, but he's composed and mature. Winston showed what happens when he gets rattled like this and he doesn't limit it to on field performance. I think they're both QB's but Mariota is still a better passer, runner, and decision maker.
The worst part of all this is Bucs fans are also Noles fans the majority of the time and they think Winston is infinitely better than Marcus Mariota. Their reasoning is hilarious too. One of them said a read option QB can't ever be better than a traditional pocket passer. Their logic is so ridiculous it's a whole new level for #FSUTwitter.
Talkin' bout the Noles.

I'm trying to figure out if the guy on the left is trying to stop from busting out laughing or not...
He's not. when he looked directly at the camera for a moment his expression was definitely a serious poker face. His cheeks' profile just makes it look a little like he's holding a laugh.
This guy always looks like he just ate a persimmon .
hes probably thinking im glad this headache is gone. or dang jimbo dont be so crabby
He might stay honestly, I wouldn't write him off yet.

apparently Oregon players had a message for Winston as well
I find it very interesting just how offended FSU fans are today that Oregon players did this

I dunno, 50k Hokies in a crowd of 72k in Charlotte mock chopping after going up 44-26 was pretty nice as well.
Agreed. like I said. let the fans handle it.
Man that 2010 team was awesome with how they rallied and ran the table on the ACC. That game in Charlotte was some freaking cold, but we were enjoying taking it to the noles so much that it didn't bother us one bit!

Ehh, I say if the players can back it up, let em talk. If FSU doesn't want to be mocked, win the game.
Because, to quote Jameis, lets be real... We all loved it when Tyrod did this:
I don't see Tryod showing the "U" sign in any way the same as a player specific taunt about rape. Come on. As you quote, let's be real
I agree complete lack of class.
It also shows the danger of this type of accusation. Whether he did it or not, as accused, for the rest of his life he'll be guilty.

"You know what would have helped? The case being sent to trial and judged by a jury of his peers."
There's a not insignificant list of people who have been acquitted of crimes yet still are considered guilty in the court of public opinion.
Not to mention Winston's post game comments: zero cred to Oregon, just "we beat ourselves". It's not like they had a lead and lost it. They were consistently trying to come back from being down 2 scores.
I hope Josh Sweat does not approve of FSU's sportsmanship and reconsiders staying home.
This post should receive it's own thread.
Hate FSU but that was low class
You still sound like you're talking about FSU though...
Whelp, no Heisman Skrong this year.
For the sake of the ACC I wanted FSU to win. For all of the programs that recruit, coach, and teach their players to do the right things I wanted an asteroid to fall on both teams.

I'm okay with sacrificing cash if it means I get to laugh at FSU.
Good point about economics , still can not root for the sleeze balls!
Maybe my lip-reading is rusty. I though he was saying "You want fucking crabs, you go to Publix!"
OT but are there any pics, gifs, memes of Winston crying/whining during or at the end of the p*wnage?
I thought it was "your coming to funky town, or your going to space"
I'm a horrible lip reader though
Oh this is gold. Instead of a captioning contest, we should just have a bad lip-reading contest for this one.
"That guy standing in front of me?....He can't move his face."
"You look up right now, or I'm going shove this finger in a bad place."
Could be so many things.
"That crummy Mystique? Took my face!"
You take my hat???! You get maced!
You want me to fart now? Uncork my ass!
"You call me fat again, you're going to get spanked"
Reminds me of this before the Clemson game
Jumbo and Jameis had a similar interaction in the ACCCG.
Screw both of them.
Yeah, that's where Jimbo pretends he is a strict disciplinarian for all the parents of elite recruits & the media, while not actually doing anything to his star player, so the elite recruits themselves also get the unspoken message. You can tell he learned from Bobby Bowden.
