Virginia Tech men's basketball coach Buzz Williams was energetic, emotional and animated throughout the Hokies 66-68 loss to Syracuse yesterday.

Some of Buzz's best courtside reactions needed to be GIFed for posterity's sake.

He's got moves like Yosemite Sam.

Eff yeah; back to coaching.

No, no, no, yes.

Annnnnnnnnnnd, boom goes the dynamite.

Running Buzz.

yep, I get what you're saying loud and clear: Ostrich riding is a prerequisite for all VT coaches.

Good think Buzz doesn't have any assistants on the sideline standing up with him or we might see this happen.

Buzz Williams: One Man GIFTORY

The team might have lost the game, but with these GIFs we all win.

FOSTERS: Australian for defense

Anybody else think this man is invested and wants to win?

Either that or he got a hold of some bad Taco Bell.

Nicely done, sir.

Were you at Scott Stadium recently?

Ohhhh, that's good!

Can't be. There are way too many people in that picture.

I had a uva guy tell me that Buzz was rude and obnoxious, and I admitted, it does appear that way if all you know him by is watching him on tv on the sidelines. After getting to know Buzz better, his antics bring me nothing but comfort knowing that he is soooo emotionally and physically invested in this team. Bright days lay ahead.

Tyrod did it, Mikey!

The UVA guy is an idiot

Buzz is first class

'Its easy to grin, when your ship comes in, and you've got the stock market beat,
but the man worthwhile, is the man who can smile, when his shorts are too tight in the seat'

Exactly. Buzz is absolutely passionate on the sideline, and there is nothing wrong with that. His language is cleaner than Coach K's despite Buzz's red face. He is cordial with the officials, unless he's begging for a whistle. He is supportive of his players, most pointedly & demonstratively after he criticizes their poor play.

There is zero negative to say about Buzz off the court. He praises the university, the rest of the athletic department, the region, and publicly supports more charities than any of us could name. He praises the other teams, the other coaches, basically everyone except the short little reporter at the Roanoke paper, who is an absolute troll in every way possible.

Anyone that thinks badly of Buzz does so because of their own knee jerk ignorance, which is willful ignorance. Those people never hold credence for me.

well stated - I wish I could give you a month's worth of TLs for that little ditty.

Uva guy an idiot?
But, but... Thomas Jefferson. THOMAS JEFFERSON!!!!!

UVA was my biggest mistake.

Go Hokies

He's worth the price of admission alone.

The man pretty much guzzles honey during the game because of how much yelling and coaching he has to do.

Guess we know what keeps him "buzzing"

No....no?

I'll see myself out

I love this coach. What a character. Keep it up Buzz.

The Dude Abides

I also love the announcers talking about okay there goes the jacket, then the vest, then the tie, and please god stop there... They have done it in a couple games now.

They need to show this to recruits. Show how much this man cares. He isn't screaming and yelling at the kids, he is cheering them on, celebrating and coaching with so much passion and energy, I think he may pass out one day on the sidelines. If you buy in, that man will take on a Sam Rogers charge for you. You can tell he is giving it all for his kids and that he doesn't want to win, he wants to see the guys succeed and a product of that is they will win.

He may not be in these gifs, but he certainly did during the game. Henry had 4 fouls and let a guy go uncontested for a layup, Buzz immediately called a timeout and yelled into his towel "soft!" and even said it a couple more times without the towel. Next play Henry jumps early and gets his 5th and is done.
Buzz and staff want perfection and they are going to get it by any means necessary or they are going to find another player to get it done. Those that buy in are absolutely going to run through a wall for this man, but you'll see a few JVZ situations along the way.

Maybe Buzz should have his assistants give all the players Sunny D & orange slices during the timeouts. Heaven forbid Buzz criticize a player during a game for completely failing to accomplish what they spent 75% of practice reiterating.

Anybody want to explain to me how Kryzewski & (list any four other elite coaches) don't have high expectations from their players?

If we get the players to show this much excitement maybe we can give loluva their first L
