From Steelers/Addicts Football 101 Website:
Basically, when a player is signed to reserve/futures contracts means they are being signed for the upcoming season even though that season does not officially begin until the official start of the leagues new year as outlined by the NFL. Only players who were not on any NFL teams active roster when the previous season ended are eligible for these types of contracts. If they were under contract, then they would remain so until the leagues new year starts.

Congrats to him! Dude always played his guts out. I remember when he burst on to the scene as a...sophomore? He popped off the screen with his pass rush.
Despite the fact that he's joining a poorly run organization....maybe he can GET THAT MONEY and prosper from it.

Just a side note....i don't claim to be an investment whiz....I sure would be loving an NFL 3rd stringers money right now. Gimme that kinda cash for 10 years and I think I could parlay that into a fully loaded retirement fund. Hopefully James will see even better money than that and also not be an ignorant ass about spending it.

I post on the topic 53 man NFL rosters all NFL/CFL/ arena rosters as they are official via NFL. If you see someone sign a contract add a comment over there and I'll add it to the master list. Arena is the biggest area of uncertainty.

Just curious which defense the redskins will run. Hoping a new DC comes in and goes back to the 4-3. Gayle was projected as an OLB in a 3-4 though I believe as his primary draft evaluation?

Played a fair bit as a freshman as well in 2010 when we had so many issues at DE, IIRC.
He'll be playing with his good buddy Morgan Moses.
Hopefully he can take the camp strong and get on the 53 man roster. Same with Carmicahel with the Cardinals.
