That team and specifically the OL was a completely different when we played them vs now. I will say we did a great job but it will be a huge challenge to hold them to 108 next year.

Same exact players but point well taken. They are winning a lot more of their one-on-one battles than they did against us. That being said, we're significantly better on the D-line than Oregon.
Wide receivers have shown the most improvement to me.

He is a sophomore, they also have Stephen Collier a freshmen and of course Barrett a Soph. That is why I can't see all four of them there next year, Braxton being the fourth.

To amend my previous response, Oregon is #86 in total defense, but #2 in turnover margin. That's pretty good, may explain their scoring defense being in the 20s.

Almost identical size to Shai. Idk how their 40 times compare, Zeke looks like he has a burst that Shai simply might not ever have. But man that kind of back would be nice, I'm a little sick to say it but, I'm kinda enjoying watching OSU. Their D plays kinda like Tech's and their offense plays how we all fantasize ours would.

It's a shame we didn't win a few of the stinkers like Pitt, Wake, and even just one of the games like GT or ECU. Coulda had a 10 win season with the best win of any team in the nation as it looks. Would have probably been good for a top 20 finish even with losses to BC, Miami, etc.
The problem is, with the 7-6 record everyone just tries to explain away the Tech win, if we finished a more respectable 9-4 or 10-3 we'd get more credit for the W rather than simply the lazy way of explaining that Ohio State "isn't the same team."

I'm not completely disagreeing that both teams are different but as Chris Berman would say, "it's why we play the game." The statement is lazy and gives us ZERO credit.
My point was that had we pulled out a few more of those squeakers this season would have looked immensely different than one viewed as perhaps the worst in 20 some odd years.

Eh, not really. Oregon is one of those teams that can score at will. They didn't do it most of the game, but they have the Heisman winning QB and have scored in under 1-2 minutes many times. The TD just sealed the game and gave them absolutely no chance of winning. There was still the score, 2pt, and on side kick that could keep them in. Which is not improbable for Oregon to do.

I find it funny how everyone is saying that Virginia Tech deserves a piece of this title since they were the only ones to beat Ohio State, when there was one team (just one!) that demonstrated that they were far and away better than the Hokies this season. You know what that means, right?
