Kam Chancellor's top NFL hits

Came across this on facebook and figured the tkp community would like this just as much as me (not the music though). After last year's superbowl, last weekend's playoff game, and his general dominance over the past few years, Kam Chancellor is starting to become a household name among football fans. The exposure he's getting for the Hokies is huge! Joe posted the article about the schools prospects consider to be dbU, well I'm sure we'll continue to get points in that category with Kam playing the way he has.

Some of the hits they highlight aren't really all that great, but most of them are pretty impressive. Regardless, it's pretty awesome that there's a 8+ minute video dedicated to our guy. I love the end when he talks about his Bam Bam tats, what a beast!

Have we been tweeting him and Fuller to see if #DBU can make an appearance on the MNF intros? That would be huge.

takeaways:

1) anytime a "top X" list has honorable mentions you know the real "top" hits are going to be ridiculously nasty.
2) As Sherman says in the intro he hits like that within the rules. I also can't imagine him playing in the Butkus days of the game where hits were more life threatening.
3) welcome to the gun show: BAM BAM
bonus) not sure how Vernon Davis still walking

#3: That is perfect tackling form. All kids should study that.

#2 and #1: Vernon Davis sees Kam in his sleep, errr, I mean nightmares.

Yes, the music during the Honorable Mentions is horrible (thanks for warning).

Pain is Temporary, Chicks Dig Scars
Glory is Forever, Let's Go Hokies!!

#DBU will get after ya

I can imagine no more rewarding a career. And any man who may be asked in this century what he did to make his life worthwhile, I think can respond with a good deal of pride and satisfaction:
“I served in the United States Navy"

Thanks. Kam is my favorite NFL player (don't tell the other Hokies)

Is there any chance this is on youtube? I cannot view embedded Vimeos. (but my company IT recently approved youtube. WOO)

I couldn't find it on Youtube, but let me know if you do.

nah I don't see it on youtube. If you go through this link http://vimeo.com/116840311 does it still count as an embedded video?

Not just Sherman, but even the announcers on a couple of the hits are praising him for making hits within the confines of the rules. For the better PLAY, not just hit, I'd have picked the one where he pancaked the lineman then tackled the RB. That's amazing.

I didn't watch that game, but did that flag stick on the "#1 hit"? That was one of the cleanest hard hits I've seen.

yeah it stuck unfortunately. Vernon had to leave the game with a concussion though

It did look like a pretty serious case of whiplash...with the back of his head hitting the ground at the end.

Now if we could just convince Russell Wilson and Howie Long that Kam went to VT and not uVA. That interview was terrible, the way they were trying to give uVA credit for Kam. I hope that someone straightened them out.

There is nothing in the world like Thursday night in Blacksburg!

Yeah, then a shoutout for central VA which again isn't where Kam is from. Awkwardly tried to turn praise about Kam into something about them. It was uncomfortably bad.

Bam Bam tatties on his shoulders that he brands you with?

"That kid you're talking to right there, I think he played his nuts off! And you can quote me on that shit!" -Bud Foster

Now I see why they BRANDED the turkey legs. I can't believe that whole turkey leg thing just got cooler.

"How you doin', Randy?"

It would be even better if it said BAM BAM under his number

And even better if it said, #DBU

"How you doin', Randy?"

#1 - "Personal foul, number 31 of the defense, he hit him too hard!"

Also, for his own safety, I'm so glad Kam figured out how to lead with his shoulder on these hits. #15 and #14, he was lucky not to have knocked himself out.

No, I *don't* want to go to the SEC. Why do you ask?

We don't love dem Hoos.

What's more impressive is the number of hits that he puts on guys that are larger than him. It is easy to lay out a little dude, but to make Mike Tolbert go backwards or completely drop an Offensive Lineman with a simple shoulder to the chest is beyond impressive. That guy fell to the ground like he got tased.

"Nope, launch him into the sun and fart on him on the way up"
-gobble gobble chumps

"11-0, bro"
-Hunter Carpenter (probably)

Don't Kam me, bro.

(textbook)

#7 - He just reverse pancakes an O-lineman and then makes the tackle. Anyone that's a fan of football absolutely loves that play.
