ugh.
well that sucks. bucky has so much potential, i hope he can get it together and learn from this.
Second offense since November? Geez, man, chill out.
It's not. That was an error on our part. Someone by same name had the November arrest. We apologize for the mistake.
Are we correct to infer that was Mr. Hodges then? Temuchin can't be a very common name.
Ahh thanks :)
Not gonna lie, I was very disappointed to read this. Hopefully he learns from his mistakes and accepts whatever consequence comes with it. Kid is such a stud and I'd hate for him to waste that talent by doing dumb stuff like this
My two biggest questions: is there even enough alcohol in Blacksburg to get Bucky intoxicated? And second, where were his friends? In my five years in Blacksburg, the only DiPs I heard about were because people were walking alone. Stupid mistake, and he'll probably pay in sweat, but thankfully it's just a stupid misdemeanor that shouldn't have any major impacts.
Yup, it's a class 4 misdemeanor. Punishment is only a fine. You basically spend the night in jail, sober up and are released! Usually the fine is only around $25.00.
Yep it was my go to charge for people disturbing the peace who would not just walk away.
Yup same here.
Where did you work? I was Hanover County Deputy 04 and 05. Left to become a firefighter.
Pulaski county deputy
I didn't know anyone else from Pulaski posted on TKP, that's awesome.
By chance are you a member of the Pulaski County Hokie Club?
I am not. I moved to Arlington after I graduated from Tech.
Did not know there was a Pulaski Co HC. Very cool!
Not from Pulaski but currently living in Pulaski county. :)
Andy made a correction and said this is Bucky's first offense. But according to HokieSports he was born 8/8/95 so he isn't even 20. Will he likely get an underage charge as well then?
No because a "DIP" charge does not require a breathalyzer test nor possession of alcohol.
Thanks for clearing that up. I didn't know you could get DIP without being breathalyzed.
I think this has to do with it being the same charge as swearing. All up to the officer's discretion.
well shit...
you're coming with me son.
"What's a little public intoxication amongst friends, officer?"

Seriously, though, I got drunk in college once, too.
Okay, really seriously, I'm drinking right now. And I plan on going out in public, with beer in hand, to walk my dog. I'm a baaaaaad man.
But I will be at work at 5:30 AM tomorrow.
This is a total non issue.
It's usual not the drinking per se but what you do in public while/after drinking that brings on a "DIP" charge.
Eh. It was dumb but of all the things to get in trouble for, this is the one to get in trouble for. We sometimes forget these players are still college kids and still often do things college kids do. There was no harm done in this so I am not too concerned unless it becomes a pattern. He didn't go all Journell on us or anything.
I got one of those in college and I turned out ok...I think.
