This has never been more appropriate:

The Orange and Maroon you see, that's fighting on to victory.

Took a look at their prices and... uhhh

"When I was growing up, Virginia Tech was a school that was kicking ass and taking names, and it's time we get back to that" - James Franklin

I knew it wasn't going to be cheap considering this is high end, tailored clothing. I hope this sweater is more on the $69 end of the range for their v-neck sweaters.

Yeah but those prices are due to a sale they have going on. Look at those regular prices... $275-$165.... I like this sweater, but no way in hades am I paying that kind of price for one.

Which is why we go with the sleevless T's!

Orange and maroon are rarely ever put together on everyday clothing, that it may be worth 150.00 or so, just for exclusivity.

You'd actually be surprised...

Orange and maroon together have been 'in' for a few years now, and I can generally replace a shirt or 2 throughout the year just by browsing dept stores.

I found one rugby once. Usually the orange is too bright or the Maroon is too red.

Are we sure this isn't a setup where it's always on sale?

Buzz really does put the "sweat" in sweater.

840, I agree. While it's been a fair number of years, I've spent many hours in there yelling for the Hokies, screaming at the refs and jumping up and down...Cassell is hot and steamy at a crowded and competetive game. Cannot imagine a guy who goes through two or three dress shirts a game wearing a sweater, of all things. That said, I think he should wear it to every game until we win the ACC.

Reel men fish on Wednesdays

Well, my wife commented the other night how hideous it was. So I'm in for one!

Dude that is one of the awesomest ugly sweaters ever, I submitted my name to the waitlist!

I can imagine no more rewarding a career. And any man who may be asked in this century what he did to make his life worthwhile, I think can respond with a good deal of pride and satisfaction:
“I served in the United States Navy"

UPDATE: The cost is 125.00 with all profits to Buzz's bunch.
Available in 45-60 days or 'round 'bout Spring game time.

$125 is an absurd price for a sweater

I like the design, but that price is way too high

"When I was growing up, Virginia Tech was a school that was kicking ass and taking names, and it's time we get back to that" - James Franklin

$125 is absurd for your average sweater but with high quality wool and construction and it's worth it.

EDIT: For reference, high end clothing stores sell extra-fine Merino wool sweaters starting at $70. Add the fact that this is custom and limited edition with profits going to charity, $125 sounds a little generous, but not far off.

Until you ruin it. Which usually takes me a few weeks. I'd rather be out $20, than $125.

I assume this company caters to the "Saks" crowd. Not the average Hokie like you and me.

🦃 🦃 🦃

Many of these posts sound suspiciously like the excuses often used for not belonging to the Hokie Club or buying season tickets.

As mentioned from the very beginning - this is for charity. If that doesn't move anyone, try to remember all the excitement about the chance to buy special occasion Hokie football helmets for $350 or more.

If folks don't want to follow their bold talk about buying the sweater, it would be judicious to just not mention it, as opposed to complaining about the expense of a custom made merino wool sweater by a tailor who makes Buzz's custom suits. I really don't understand the disconnect.

Custom made. Merino wool. Hokie argyle. Proceeds to charity.

Simply an observation and an accurate one.
I don't make excuses. I donate to HC and TKP yearly, even though as a law student, I have no income and acquiring major debt. Please don't assume this an excuse.

I agree this is a great sweater. It is still "Saks" style and quality. Some donors appreciate that style and quality and will contribute. Others will not find it within their price range. Simple facts.

🦃 🦃 🦃

Or... people could choose to look at it as buying a Hokie sweater for $75 and contributing $50 to Buzz's charity. There's no reason to be critical of the price, though, as some above have been. It's not out of range for the quality of the sweater. Did people really expect a custom tailor to produce a $49.99 acrylic sweater as a charitable item?

As far as the Hokie Club comparison, that was to show that people talk a lot about making our programs elite, but when it comes time to actually donate/spend the money to do so they often shrink away. Same with the sweater for charity. If folks don't want to buy it, fine. Just don't criticize the cost of it when the cost is in line with the product.

Best response I could have come up.

But, for DBU, it's Saks 5th Avenue. There is one in Tyson's Galleria, if you're ever in NoVA.

🦃 🦃 🦃

How long ago was it where we'd make fun of LOLUVA's propensity for argyle? Always?

Oh.

This is harlequin, not argyle. Clearly immensely different. We can continue to pick on argyle.

From the email:

Thanks for contacting us about how to purchase Buzz's Virginia Tech argyle sweater. Lots of Hokie fans wrote us about availability details after the big win over Georgia Tech. So thanks for being patient. Here is the information on the sweater.

Just saying. (although, the sweater makers are technically wrong.)

🦃 🦃 🦃

I like the sweater but I thought the exact same thing when TKP first tweeted this out. Despite what GuitarMan stated, 99% of people would consider this argyle.

"It might be dark outside, but it's LeDay in here." - Jay Bilas

This isn't argyle... Do we need to go over this again?

This is argyle:

This is harlequin:

This is Harley Quinn:

Wife's reaction:

-What we do is, if we need that extra push, you know what we do? -Put it up to fully dipped? -Fully dipped. Exactly. It's dork magic.

So harlequin is the same as argyle without overlapping diamonds?

for the same price as the sweater u could probably just have it tattooed onto your chest!

"I don't know what a Hokie is, but God is one of them." - Lee Corso

harlequin boobs?

I wanted one, not even upset about the price, but alas, no option for the 3X. Would even have been willing to pay extra for the material. Guess I am stuck with the harlequin shirt from the Emporium.
