Should also be noted that Brookville QB Kendall Becraft will enroll at Tech as a preferred walk-on. #Hokies— Chris Lang (@ChrisLangLNA) February 6, 2013

I know of Kendall and he is too small to be a QB. He'll probably be moved to the defensive backfield. Some sites have him listed as 6 ft but that is being pretty generous.

Kendall definitely won't be moved to the defensive backfield. He will probably never play, but he will stay at QB. I expect him to be a lot like Trey Gresh

Mitchell Ludwig, a punter-placekicker from Abingdon is also an invited walk-on. He has been trained by NFL Hall of Fame nominee Doug Blevins, who is considered the top punting/kicking field goal consultant in the country (coached Adam Vinatieri, Justin Tucker, Olindo Mare, amongst many others.)

I've seen him play several times in person. My highschool and his were a big rivalry. He was very good. I'd be pleased with him being on the team. He can easily kick a 60 yarder.

I cannot throw stones because when I was high school I was playing with a girls pepper spray and shot it into a trash can.... it was a HUGE mistake. It cleared the whole house and I looked like an idiot. So dumb....good lesson learned. I still can't believe he did it in a public restaurant though...dude does not make wise choices.

Preferred walk-ons will often be recruited, without ever being offered a scholarship. Regular walk ons are guys that were not recruited in high school at all, but may have emailed the coaching staff around practice time to attempt to gain a spot on the team. Think Daniel Rodriguez.

Or like the girl that tried to be a kicker. Often times, preferred walk-ons have an arrangement with the coaches that says that they will be a member of the team but not have a scholarship. Regular walk-ons will participate in tryouts to receive a spot in most cases.

preferred walk-ons are typically guaranteed a spot on the team, even though they don't have a scholly ... and they can generally earn a scholarship down the line if their progression warrants it

That kinda solidifies it I think.
I would love to see Rogers as a fullback just demolishing linebackers who shoot through the gap. Hulk Smash.
Any chance he plays linebacker?
Didnt he play that as well?
any other walk ons?
Anyone know if there are any other walk ons?
Only one I know of so far:
ALLL The Quarterbacks
What's that, like 5 this class? I realize most are being recruited as athletes, but damn.
Too small

Scout
I meant to add "scout" in the defensive backfield part. Reminds me a lot like TJ Shaw. Undersized QB outta HS who moved to rover

I saw that on Gobbler Country
I saw him

Easily kick a 60 yarder?
Do we have a modern day George Blanda out here?
Well...
Maybe I exaggerated a bit on easily all the time... But I swear I saw him kick one during warm-up at the John Battle- Abingdon game this year.
I liked his video
at punter. Very impressive.
Good
We desperately need a new GREAT kicker coming in. After Cody is gone we need someone great.
You mean after Cody is eventually kicked off the team?
Boys will be boys
I mean who here hasn't accidentally maced an entire Buffalo Wild Wings before? Cut the guy a break.
Pepper Spray

Preferred walk-on?
What is the difference in a walk-on and a preferred walk-on?
Recruitment
Preferred walk-ons will often be recruited, without ever being offered a scholarship. Regular walk ons are guys that were not recruited in high school at all, but may have emailed the coaching staff around practice time to attempt to gain a spot on the team. Think Daniel Rodriguez.

that's it
