With everyone watching the ACC basketball tournament and everything relates to any news out of the football program this may have slipped by some. VT softball has taken the genius level idea of going to Hawaii to play a tournament during spring break. Isn't there a rule that if a football team travels to Hawaii to play a game they can add another game? If so I propose every ten years a game at Hawaii.

That is gonna be a pain. That long flight, the possible sunburns, and saltwater burning the eyes. Being a college athlete can really be a drag at times.
I'm pretty sure they flew in 2-4 days early too "get accustomed" to the jet lag and time difference.

From my understanding talking with some parents the players and coaches raised a lot of the money themselves.
Good for them. These athletes really do put in a lot of hours between classes and practice and probably don't get much of a spring break since its during their season. From the view of the athletic department budget, the money is the same whether it is a tourney in North Dakota or one in Hawaii. If the team can get a vacation by raising some bucks on the side and subsidize it with the teams tourney money allocation, good for them.
dang gonna miss it by a few weeks. I'll be in Hawaii from the 2d - 16th....for "work".
Go Lady Hokies! I used to watch VT softball a lot while at Tech. They work really hard and deserve more attention. They also deserve some fun in the sun. There better be a chance for them to go down to the beach and relax. Surely that would be allowed. They should post some pictures of that so we can make sure it happens. It would be a travesty if it didn't and without a picture, or twenty, there's no proof.
