Recently just talking to my cousin I found out that his friend 2015 WR/DB Brandon Polk just got offered by VT. He's definitely a burner and as a sophomore ran a 10.83 100m dash which is the 10th fastest in the country. You can see his HUDL highlights here.
While looking at those highlights saw that the QB at Briar Woods, Trace McSorley, also got offered and there was a washington post article on him here. He was just offered by UNC and VT as an athlete and was previously offered by BC as well. The wapo article touts his arm and from looking at highlights his throwing ability looks really impressive.
That's his sophomore highlights and he has some great throws there but would have to say my favorite part is his monster block on a punt return. I feel like his throws on that soph tape looks as good as anything from the videos on Bucky Hodges from his senior year.
His junior year HUDL highlights can be found here and there are highlights from him playing safety as well. His throws down the field in traffic and especially on a few outs to the opposite side of the field look great to me. If this kid was 2 inches taller I feel like he'd be a top national recruit. He was listed 6'1 180 pounds his junior year so he's obviously a bit undersized but kid looks like he can ball out and kind of reminds me of similarly undersized Johnny Manziel (of course I'm not saying as good but just a comparison that pops into my head). He's also been the starting QB on 3 VA division 4 state championship teams and going for his fourth title this upcoming senior year.
Hopefully VT could get a pipeline to Briar Woods HS going because they've had some great talent out lately that's gone out of state in Matt Rolin and Alex Carter.

He looks like a real nice player but...
Where did #2 end up going (if he was a part of this years class). That kid was impressive.
QB had really nice touch though and had some good wheels. I think he'd fit our system really well.
#2 is Alex Carter
Alex Carter was a Senior in the sophomore year highlights of McSorley. Alex Carter ended up going to Stanford.
Brandon Polk reminds me a lot of Eddie Royal. And FAAAAAASTTTT.
McSorley looks like an excellent athlete in his sophomore film, but I'm going to have to point out that it looks to me like he stares down his intended receiver from the snap (unless the play calls for a fake or he has to roll out, improvise, etc) and most of his throws are to wide open receivers. Obviously as a sophomore you have plenty of time to improve on those things, but it's hard for me to judge his QB play when the WRs are blowing by the defense at will on most of those highlights.
Polk obviously has great speed but the highlight at 1:18 made me laugh out loud. The entire offensive line is 10 yards down field blocking on that bubble screen before the pass is thrown.
Take a look at the junior film link

You can see the progression being made on some throws especially not having Alex Carter this past year. He's a great athlete and it looks like to me he shows better mechanics, footwork, zip on the ball as a junior than Bucky Hodges displays on his senior tape. Feel like he would make a great safety but also feel like he could develop into a special QB as well.
I definitely see improvement on his progressions in his junior tape. It looks like he has good fundamentals and shows good zip on out routes. He does have a tendency to float up the ball on deep passes. I wish our o-line blocked half as well as his in these highlights. Good to see Polk making some nice catches and blocking downfield in that video as well.
Up, Up, and Away
Solid passer, but his deep passes definitely do float quite a bit. A couple of those would be picked off at the college level. His instincts on D would make for a great Rover/FS. All I can think is Kam Chancellor.
The kid is legit
I watched him play in the state championship game this season and he can play. He's a lot smaller than you would think though. He throws a very tight spiral. What really impressed me was how he ran with patience and set up his blocks very well. In all honesty though he was just as good as DB as he was at QB. He's undersized but he's a great player. Not too mention he's won three state championships in a row. I would love to see him in Blacksburg to say the least
