OT: Where to get a Hokies Fire Helmet Decal?

Hokie Firman, me, needs advice/favor. I'm looking for a "VT" or Hokies decal that can go on my fire helmet. Just any decal won't work because of the nature of the environment the helmet will go into. I've had no luck talking to anyone at Blacksburg Fire or Virginia Tech Rescue or searching on the Internet. Since this is the smartest group of Hokies I know with lots of resources I thought I would throw this out there before I gave up. Thanks

Can't recommend a particular product, but tweet at the University Bookstore, campus emporium, etc. and ask. Twitter is a great tool to reach out to businesses with quick questions.

I tweeted them, they are looking into it.

No that won't work, looking for more like reflective stickers size.

How about using a stencil and spraypainting a VT on the helmet wish heat resistant paint? The logos are not particularly complex.

Can't add anything like paint to the helmet, it voids the warrant coverage.

Yes please. I was a firefighter in Ohio the last 7 years and OSU stuff is on every other fire helemt up there. Several guys even have fully painted anOSU helmets to wear tailgating on at the game.

the internet is absolutely incredible. By sheer cosmic serendipity a friend of mine showed me something about 2 weeks ago that may be exactly what you are looking for. Here it is:

This is not a decal. It is a custom painted helmet by Smoke Eaters Custom: http://www.smokeeatercustoms.com/index.html

I was told that they can be used on the job, but I couldn't say for sure.

EDIT: Just saw your comment above about voiding the warranty. Maybe these guys could help you do something that could work though.

That's the next purchase, but I cant and would not wear that into a fire. That's a tailgate, game watching party or if VT lets me at the game helmet.

Would hate to do this to that beautiful helmet.

Are you looking for something reflective, or something that won't get damaged in high heat? I would look at some of the 3M reflective tape (the reflective tape on fire trucks), it's pretty sturdy and you can get stuff screen printed on it from any sign company. just go with the reflective vinyl tape that has a longer lifetime (5+ years) and you should be good to go.

I can get a custom product done from a few companies but some won't do it because of licensing, some look homemade as crap. I want something quality that is legal from VT.

I know enough about this to be dangerous so here goes.
Many overlays for electronic equipment are reverse screen printed on lexan/polycarbonate film and then have a sheet of 3M adhesive film applied to stick it on what ever.
you might be able to reverse print on lexan (.020-.050 would be a good thickness) with a color laser printer and then apply adhesive. I'm sure there's someone here with connections to a 3M sales person who could score you a sample. Hell I've got some but it's buried in a storage locker till the new house is done.

I can barely figure out how to wirelessly print from my iPad. Could you make those I instructions firefighter proof, ie even I can't blow up my house by doing it.

Try SportDecals (http://www.sportdecals.com/)

Thats who we had to use for Club Baseball to get helmet decals and stuff. They are the thicker, more permanent stickers than what you'd use for your car.

Not sure how the licensing works, but they obviously had VT's blessing for our stuff. Since this wouldn't actually be for the school I'm not sure how that would work.

Tanks to whatever admin made the title better, I wasn't sure what to write.

This has nothing to do with decals...

That's Wahoo Basketball right there.

Glory is Forever, Let's Go Hokies!!

I dunno... taking a firehose to a dumpster fire seems like the perfect symbolism of what Whit is doing to VT basketball in his first year on the job.
