Buzz Williams was on Chad Duke vs. the World yesterday. It's definitely worth a listen.
Chad Dukes is joined on CDVTW by Buzz Williams, head men's basketball coach for Virginia Tech, to discuss Virginia's early dismissal from the NCAA Tournament, Duke's chances of winning the whole thing, West Virginia's press defense, his infamous sweater and much, much more.

Is there an option to listen to just Buzz talk and mute Dukes?
Seconded. However, the video of Cakes beating Dukes in a game of basketball is still one of the best things on the Internet.
Dukes and Berman should open "Mighty Midgets Muffler Shop" together. I smell money!
Most if not all of those donks (hate that i'm using a Junkies term) on 106.7 are big time Hokie Haters.
I grew up listening to the Junkies when they were on at night, but I just can't stand them anymore.
The Cakes basketball video is really awesome though.
Grant and Danny (midday) interviewed Bill Roth/Mike Burnop (don't remember which) a couple times during football season. But yeah, not many people there view the Hokies as a local team despite the alumni base. I feel like a lot of the UMaryland people are still mad about us joining the ACC...
I used to listen to 980 more, but it's like getting your news from North Korea. More spin than RG3's passes from certain hosts
Well, the Roth/Burnop thing is because they are the Hokie affiliate now.
I remember the Junkies kissing Beamer's ass all over during an interview a couple years ago, then once he hung up Lurch absolutely hammered him.
You are right about 980. Its like North Korea because the owner of the station, Dan Snyder is basically whichever Jong Il is still alive.
I have no problem with Dukes.
But the Junkies can kiss my ass. Maybe it was a different interview, but once they had Beamer on and at the end of the call, Lurch made some under his breath Druckenmiller comment. When Beamer said "what?", He was all..."Oh...nothing..."
A couple other highlights:
The rest of the lineup is just boring and all they want to do is talk about Washington Football (even during the Nat's playoff run).
I think Grant Paulsen does a great job and knows his football. Chris Cooley is fantastic talking football on 980, and I enjoy Czaben (shocked that he hasn't been canned given past criticism of the Redskins.) But for the most part, local sports talk radio is only good if you enjoy listening to Redskins fans lamenting about losing. Since I am pretty ambivalent about the NFL, I only listen in the car.
Cooley is good when doing film reviews, but I almost threw up when he "scored" an interview with Snyder. "What do you think it means to be a true Redskin?"
Barf.
Pretty much every Monday morning in the Fall/Winter :-)
You think Grant Paulsen knows his football?
The Young Jeezy story is hilarious.
That was a great listen.
Buzz seems like such a fun, interesting and genuine dude. Whit should have a film crew follow him around, I would watch that all day.
Hard Knocks: Hokies Edition
"A Close call with the Buzzsaw in Hokies Basketball Lore"
I remember ESPN doing something with Saban (maybe leading up to one of the National Championship games?).
Buy Buzz Williams stock now, it will only go up
