...but Beamer says he plays heavier than that. Seems like something the coaches were saying about a 215-pound recruit a few years ago named Wedley Estime.

Nice one, Andy. You played that just like I would've.

Leonard. Duh.

Who the hell is...... oh.... I see what you did there.

It's an odd feeling to read this article and not have 5-10 positions that have depth issues. Might be a young team but that will take care of itself.

properly recruiting positions not an athlete... it'll get after ya

Left tackle

1. Jonathan McLaughlin
2. Darius Redman
3. That's it.
Others: Seriously, that's it.

I lost it.

Any reason why they wouldn't put Austin Clark on this side for depth?

I can think of two reasons.
1) Clark has a legit shot to beat out Hansen and Osterloh at RT and zippy chance of playing over McLaughlin at LT
2) Redman needs reps to see if he is actually OT material

I think we gotta expect people to shuffle around the depth chart multiple times during spring.

Wiley, Brown, Russell, Drakeford, Gray, Banks, Prioleau, Charleton, Midget, Bird, McCadam, Pile, Hall, Green, Fuller, Williams, Hamilton, Rouse, Flowers, Harris, Chancellor, Carmichael, Hosley, Fuller, Exum, Jarrett

Yeah I'm sure that the LT depth behind McLaughlin will change drastically by the end of spring.

3) Clark's feet are his biggest worry spot. If he isn't quick enough to play left tackle, there is no reason to expose him and ruin his confidence.

I think Arnold and Plantin both start out at the left tackle spot in the fall. One will dress unless Redman is serviceable.

I laughed, then I cried.

No, I *don't* want to go to the SEC. Why do you ask?

We don't love dem Hoos.

For French or anyone else knowledegable about the OL would we move either billy ray or any of the other recruits to LT should the redman experiment not work? I feel like it would be a good idea to get the position switch in early and have them learn reps their freshman year. Also it seems like we have a glut of guards which is great and all but one injury to a tackle, specifically mcglaughlin could REALLY hurt

Taylor, looking desperately throws it deep..HAS A MAN OPEN DANNY COALE WITH A CATCH ALL THE WAY DOWN TO THE FIVE!!!!....hes still open

Other than Tyrell Smith (I will beat that drum until it dies) I don't think any of the kids have the reach or the feet to be left tackles. If anyone moves outside, it will be Smith with Pettit and Gallo fighting for center.

We have two other tackle prospects arriving in July/August. Neither quite as talented on paper, as Clark is supposed to be but both are big, rangy, legit tackles. Although they may not start they can provide the depth needed, and who knows? One of them might surprise

French - I am at a loss as to why Conte is not starting at RT. It seems like we have more guard depth and the line really seemed to click when he moved outside. Am I completely off base?

That would be my thinking as well, my thought is that Coach Searels sees both Hansen and Conte as two of the best 5 linemen on the team right now but doesn't see Hansen being able to slide in to play guard.

It will be interesting to see how Settle fits in at DT once he arrives.

And that LT depth scares the hell out of me!

I love the tickle of Dickel in my belly

I wouldn't be too concerned about LT or RT distinctions right now. If we come out of the spring with 3 legit tackles, a center and 3 guards, I'll feel pretty darn good about fall camp.

Don't forget we have more tackles coming in August. McLaughlin played as a true freshman and right know we are just looking for more backups.

Only if the offense starts clicking for him

Center and LT are the big worry. The two most important OLine positions and we are inexperienced and thin.

Fingers crossed both positions are strong this year.
