Eleven Warriors thinks it's gonna be a blowout

Really? 30-39 points? I'll take the Hokies, you can keep the points. Just like last year.

Delusional idiots

Some of these people also apparently expect Lane to be 50/50 Hokies and Ohio State fans based on their comments there.... They dont live in reality.

"When I was growing up, Virginia Tech was a school that was kicking ass and taking names, and it's time we get back to that" - James Franklin

Really? One guy said that the he expects the stadium to be 50/50 and then another OSU fan shut him down immediately. Let's not go around calling people idiots for nothing.

You can tell some of those tools are pretty butt hurt about us beating them on their own field last year. There are at least a few rational people on there, but most seem like crazed Urban Meyer fan boys. I think they all completely underestimate how big of a challenge this game will be for them. Lane is going to be rocking; I expect an absolutely raucous environment to rival that of Miami '03. These people can keep on eating those buckeye nuts if they think it will be a 50/50 split and that they will walk all over us. I hope the team finds that thread and posts it all over the locker room. I think anOSU is in for a rude awakening come Labor Day.

I don't understand how they can think that, between student tickets and season tickets will there even be 30,000 individual tickets/tickets on the secondary market available? Not to mentions I'm sure Hokies will buy up a lot o those.

Delusional people tend to be delusional

For what its worth, I had multiple OSU fans in Columbus tell me that the VT game was by far the most away fans they had ever seen in that stadium.

I even questioned one of them and he said way more than Michigan.

We do travel well...

Pain is Temporary, Chicks Dig Scars
Glory is Forever, Let's Go Hokies!!

Same here. And the comments were unsolicited.

I got the same thing from multiple OSU fans before/during/after that game. They were very impressed by the turnout.

Go Hokies!

I dont think the article is saying the game is going to be a blowout, rather what would the line have to be to bet against the buckeyes as a buckeye fan. I believe that if we were given the same hypothetical, the results would almost be identical.

"The Big Ten is always using excuses to cancel games with us. First Wisconsin. Then Wisconsin. After that, Wisconsin. The subsequent cancellation with Wisconsin comes to mind too. Now Penn State. What's next? Wisconsin?" -HorseOnATreadmill

I would like to see that poll, I'd say 10-15 would be the overwhelming winner for Hokie fans.

Rip his freaking head off!

The best part of being in Columbus was everyone being super polite before the game saying things like "Enjoy the tailgating, it will be the best part of your day". Everyone would casually smile and be genuinely polite. They were 100% convinced that they would never lose that game.

Loved it. Walking out of the stadium was probably how god feels when his team wins a big game.

The Dude Abides

The quasi "We're invincible" mindset is what drove me crazy about their fans. I was watching the game with a (very uninformed) buckeye last year, and about halfway through the third quarter she goes "Oh man they could actually lose!" It took everything I had to refrain myself from reacting to that comment.

It was a crazy steak of home openers won and OOC games against Non-ranked team won that VT broke. They were riding high for a few DECADES. But yeah, most people hadn't even entertained the thought that it might actually happen.

I think it was my most satisfying moment (caveat: At the time, not what happened the rest of the season) as a VT fan.

The Dude Abides

you were able to just walk out? I danced out and jumped around like teenage girls who just won beiber tickets! I only regret I was unable to get tickets in the VT section so I could have been as loud as I wanted to be. I was in the OSU alumni ticket section and was trying to celebrate politely.

Plan for the worst and hope for the best, not the other way around.

I too tried my best to be subdued throughout the game, as I was sitting with a very nice guy and his young kid, as well as a couple guys (about late 20's) who were all just great. Funnily enough, all of them actually went to OSU. However, when Bucky caught that TD pass, I lost it.... and again when Riley had his pick-six.

I don't know if I walked as much as strutted out

I will never forget that feeling. I had permanent smile for hours.

This exactly! I was amazed at the universality of that attitude. They put us in a league with a smaller school like Richmond or Delaware...really nice, polite fans, but not a single one thought we'd even give them a game. Sounds like maybe the same attitude this year. In the line into the stadium, a Buckeye yelled out "you guys aren't even ranked!" to which I replied "we will be next week!"

Long live Rasche Hall

So funny. Most of the folks were very nice, but not to many expected the possibility of losing. One guy sitting in front of me was polite, but so into the Buckeyes he would not speak to me at all during the game. When I left the stadium, it was like their collective dog just died. The silence was deafening. I was the only Hokie on a bus back to the parking area, and you could hear a pin drop. They were completely shocked.

So we are being led to the chopping block again, are we? How'd that work out?

The Dude Abides

I don't really care about the what they think the score's gonna be, I find it laughable that one guy thinks Lane will be a 50/50 split. If it's any worse than 90/10 Hokie nation should be ashamed regardless of the final score

Yes,that's the Hokie Bird riding a camel. Why'd you ask?

Expect to feel ashamed then.
5 reasons why OSU fans will be finding ways to Blacksburg and will probably do better than 10%:
1-VT's proximity to Columbus, OH and their gigantic fan base.
2-OSU fan's expectations after just winning the National Championship
3-Large increase in bandwagoners now that OSU won National Championship.
4-First game of the season.
5-Labor Day
6-Sam Rogers (not sure how this made the list of 5, but can't seem to delete it)

Yeah, I'm expecting around 15% OSU fans at the start of the game. However, by the end of the game I am expecting anywhere between 0-5%. :)

In Sam Rogers we trust.

I expect the high ticket prices on the secondary market to be why OSU will be able to get tickets. I have already seen $750 a seat for tickets. Their huge fanbase has enough people willing to pay that price. I am not sure Tech has enough high end outliers that don't already have season tickets. I have been making plans to head to that game since it was announced, but looking at $550 a seat (in the south frigging end zone!!!) for the cheapest season package (of which I will only make it to one game) or $750 on stub hub, its just more than I can float. I will be scouring all my sources for a $250-$300 ticket.

Plan for the worst and hope for the best, not the other way around.

Jesus Christ, those ticket prices. Hopefully those prices drop because that's insane. They're 3x what we paid for to go to the Shoe. We might have to watch it from Downtown instead of the stadium.

There are 40,000 more seats in the horseshoe

Plan for the worst and hope for the best, not the other way around.

And Lane was 10x louder than the Shoe. Damn, I can't wait

Party Positive.

anOSU isn't going to know how to handle that.

Oh man I'm so excited for this. I live walking distance from First and Main, and I love movies AND bowling.

Thinking about braving the grand opening festivities tomorrow.

VT Class of '12 (MSE), MVBone, Go Hokies!

I'm hoping for some Skeeball in the arcade! Also, having my adult beverage
during a movie sounds fantastic!

@AMB4VT

This is a very underrated thing. There's a theater by me that has a 21 & up section, complete with leather seats with ample elbow room. Went with the missus last weekend to see Insurgent and enjoyed a nice Old Fashioned while doing so.

I definitely saw skeeball things in a picture they posted on their facebook! And check out these lanes!

VT Class of '12 (MSE), MVBone, Go Hokies!

Awesome!! Only place I have found Skeeball is at Chuck-E-Cheese.
And watching a game while you bowl...this place is going to be HOT
in the Burg!!

@AMB4VT

Can confirm skeeball! Also... this place is just generally awesome. The bowling lanes have waitresses with full service to the bar/grill. And screens/projectors EVERYWHERE. Some of the best entertainment in Blacksburg.

VT Class of '12 (MSE), MVBone, Go Hokies!

Awesome!! Cannot wait to check it out!!

@AMB4VT

There is a difference, they weren't looking forward to playing us then. As such most of the season fans were just trying to get rid of tickets for a not important game. They thought we were Marshall or some other team coming in to be beat up in the first game of the season. They didn't realize the Hokies came to win.

Self-repost from when we opened as 19 point underdogs earlier this year:

If anyone was curious like i was:
In the past 4 seasons, we've lost by 19 or more six times.
2014 Thursday night home loss to Miami: -24
2013/14 Sun Bowl loss to UCLA: - 30
2013 Chik-fil-a kickoff loss to Alabama: -25
2012 road loss to Clemson: -21
2011 ACCCG loss to Clemson: -28
2011 home loss to Clemson: -20

3 neutral site blowouts, 1 on the road, and 2 at home. I still think a 19 point line is a bit ridiculous, but the possibility of a 19 point loss is very real

30-39 would be very impressive in Lane

I still remember thinking oh I'll watch Sammy Watkins on this play. Next thing I know Cris Hill losing his jockstrap after Sammy's double move. Watching that play develop was both beautiful and ugly at the same time. That guy was damn good to put it simply.

GIVE IT TO ME ROSCOE!

I'm pretty sure Bud Foster holds 2 of the 3 lowest yard totals that a Chad Morris Clemson offense has ever put up. Our offense just never came close to clicking against Clemson for some reason.

No, I *don't* want to go to the SEC. Why do you ask?

We don't love dem Hoos.

Even autocorrect knows how foul Stiney's offense smelled.

If you play it, they will win.

This is going to be great for the ACC.

Thanks for the locker room bulletin board material fellas!

I don't care how much the tickets will cost. I am going to be in Lane Stadium that night. I am going to turn my lungs inside-out yelling. Bud Foster will crush all of their hopes and dreams, and It's going to be Miami '03 all over again.

The Orange and Maroon you see, that's fighting on to victory.

They should be salty. I still have to hear JMU thrown in my face every year since that debacle, so I kinda know how they feel. And, like JMU fans feel about their victory over us, no amount of excuses from them will change the fact that we whupped OSU, and whupped 'em fair and square. They won't forget that for many years, and we won't let them if they try. While I'm cautiously optimistic about the coming season, I'm not naive enough to believe OSU won't provide a tremendous challenge, even in a blown up Lane, but I'm thinking they're in for a fight and the tailgate may indeed be the most reliable of the options for a pleasant day for the visitors.

Reel men fish on Wednesdays

You bring up a good point about JMU. It is totally expected for the OSU fan base to be fired up about the Labor Day tilt.

Imagine what VT fans would be like if the Hokies were playing JMU next year. There would be posts right here on TKP about how many points the Hokies were going to shove down their throats.

I know this because I would be typing several posts in that same vein.

Leonard. Duh.

I agree to a point, but we are not JMU (no disrespect intended). We're a pretty good FBS program that is not far removed from having put together a pretty lengthy string of successful seasons. We have the longest active bowl streak and are led by the winningest active coach. To assume you are going to simply roll through that based on past success in my opinion is delusional. To expect to beat us by 50 and to have as many fans at our stadium as we do is beyond delusional.

JMU beat us with a good team and it hurt, but I don't think we'll beat them by 50 the next time we play them. They want to win too and are going to do their best to do so.

You are absolutely right. We are not JMU. I was just speaking to the passion of the OSU fanbase in anticipation of this game. I think we as a fanbase would have been just as eager to see a JMU rematch as the OSU fans are for this one. And with the volatility of internet message boards, a few "salty" comments would be tossed out there.

I just REALLY, REALLY want the Hokies to win this next one. I would even if I wasn't a Hokie. It would just be so delicious. You know how much conventional wisdom punditry is going to be thrown out there in the days leading up to the game about last year being a fluke. I want to see that wisdom tossed on it's ear.

#sportscastersthinktheyknoweverything

Leonard. Duh.

Please understand, I have plenty of respect for JMU and make no excuses myself for our loss to them. They beat us fair and square and deserve all of the great memories that game provided for them. I also don't compare us to them, I feel like the difference in the programs is obvious to all, regardless of that one game. I was, as Leonard just said, talking about fans, passion, hopes and expectations.

Reel men fish on Wednesdays

Reading posts on that site makes me even more proud to be a Hokie. While every team has their fair share of delusional fans, I can honestly say that the vast majority of Hokies that I know are not that way. This site is not that way. Maybe it's because we've never really been at the top and achieved that "elitism" attitude. Maybe it's because for the most part we're blue collar fans that are primarily alumni, have friends or family somehow affiliated with the University, or just like the grit and refreshing continuity that VT brings to the table. You don't see that at OSU, UT, ND, Bama, etc.

We should put the target on our chest and wear it proudly. OSU should pummel us. They should have last year. If they offer a recruit we're interested in, they flip. They basically have the pick of who they want coming out of high school. They have some of the highest paid coaches, better facilities, more and wealthier donors, the list goes on. But we both have to button our chinstraps before the game and take it out on the field. I hope they feel like they're gonna take revenge on us while we cower in the corner, because they're gonna be walking into a buzzsaw.

They may and should win, but by the end of the game they'll know who we are in case their memories are that short. O-line has to step up. QB play needs to step up. Gotta get our DB's healthy and up to speed. We need everyone to pick it up, play at a higher level against the top ranked opponent in front of the whole country. Then let the heir apparent roll into Blacksburg thinking they can strong arm us. Bring it on.

I could just envision making a video to the narration of the last two paragraphs.. damnit man, and it's only march

Party Positive.

Do it man!

"That kid you're talking to right there, I think he played his nuts off! And you can quote me on that shit!" -Bud Foster

I don't know what to say really.
Three minutes
to the biggest battle of our professional lives
all comes down to today.
Either
we heal
as a team
or we are going to crumble.
Inch by inch
play by play
till we're finished.
We are in hell right now, gentlemen
believe me
and
we can stay here
and get the shit kicked out of us
or
we can fight our way
back into the light.
We can climb out of hell.
One inch, at a time.

Now I can't do it for you.
I'm too old.
I look around and I see these young faces
and I think
I mean
I made every wrong choice a middle age man could make.
I uh....
I pissed away all my money
believe it or not.
I chased off
anyone who has ever loved me.
And lately,
I can't even stand the face I see in the mirror.

You know when you get old in life
things get taken from you.
That's, that's part of life.
But,
you only learn that when you start losing stuff.
You find out that life is just a game of inches.
So is football.
Because in either game
life or football
the margin for error is so small.
I mean
one half step too late or to early
you don't quite make it.
One half second too slow or too fast
and you don't quite catch it.
The inches we need are everywhere around us.
They are in ever break of the game
every minute, every second.

On this team, we fight for that inch
On this team, we tear ourselves, and everyone around us
to pieces for that inch.
We CLAW with our finger nails for that inch.
Cause we know
when we add up all those inches
that's going to make the fucking difference
between WINNING and LOSING
between LIVING and DYING.

I'll tell you this
in any fight
it is the guy who is willing to die
who is going to win that inch.
And I know
if I am going to have any life anymore
it is because, I am still willing to fight, and die for that inch
because that is what LIVING is.
The six inches in front of your face.

Now I can't make you do it.
You gotta look at the guy next to you.
Look into his eyes.
Now I think you are going to see a guy who will go that inch with you.
You are going to see a guy
who will sacrifice himself for this team
because he knows when it comes down to it,
you are gonna do the same thing for him.

That's a team, gentlemen
and either we heal now, as a team,
or we will die as individuals.
That's football guys.
That's all it is.
Now, whattaya gonna do?

They probably said the same thing last year, and truthfully, so did I.

I made the trip up to Columbus fully expecting us to lose. I'm a pessimist by nature, and it just seemed like another one of those games that we would lose.

I don't know how to feel about this game. I know that the revenge factor would certainly be turned all the way up if their loss to us had kept them out of the Final Four but I'm sure the guys that are returning won't forget last year.

I'm sure the NCAA will come down on anOSU with the swift hammer of justice. Miller will be barred from competing in collegiate athletics to take effect immediately upon his graduation or whenever his eligibility runs out, whichever comes second. In addition, anOSU will be sanctioned and subjected to a post-season ban the next time they have fewer than 6 regular season wins. Finally, because of his obvious involvement, Urban Meyer will vacate any wins he may have acquired at Utah while Miller was on the active roster.

That will properly demonstrate the power of the mighty NCAA and protect the sanctity of the hallowed "student-athlete"

I wasn't on here around the start of the game last year, but to be honest I'm not really surprised OSU fans feel this strongly. To those who were there in Columbus, you remember how silent it was at halftime. Those people gave us no chance and it's happening again. Let em hate. But like Alum07 said, they are delusional idiots if they expect us to just lay down and show up flat on the first game of the season.

I'll file this under "Irrelevant"

Honestly, who cares what they think or are saying now? Im sure they were saying similar things last year. Let them make their predictions and ride their high horse.

Bleeding burnt orange and chicago maroon

I said it last year and I'll say it again this year. There is no reason We can't/won't beat OSU!! I believe it more today than last year d/t how our D scheme matches up against OSU's O. Sure OSU is loaded with 5* talent but if they can't score on our D who cares what * rankings they have. Can we lose? Of course we can lose! Is it a given OSU runs over us? Heck NO!! If our O shows up we can/should have back to back wins over the national champs. WOW, It's going to be a long 5 months!!

50/50 blah blah blah, here's a stat for osu fan, im 100% sure those idiots posting blowout scores are the same ones that did last yr to, talk is cheap.

I don't see it being a blowout unless there is a ton of turnovers and some special team miscues (Alabama 2013). The problem for OSU is they weren't able to run against Tech at all last year. If the defense is healthy, the front 7 should be even better than last year. While we don't know what the safety situation will look like, I know that when healthy Facyson and Fuller are the best cover duo in the country hands down.

OSU's offense won't put up enough points on VT for it to be considered a blowout unless they get a ton of help from their defense/special teams.

...and here's to hoping that for whatever reason that we get back to our old selves and starting scoring some points on special teams. When was the last time we had a KO or punt return for a touchdown? Did we have one at all last year?

Pitt 1 year ago i think.

There was also this thing of beauty this past Black Friday...

Yes,that's the Hokie Bird riding a camel. Why'd you ask?

Last regular season game of 2014.
That's about as recent as it gets.
Didn't we have one against PITT 2013?
Marshall 2013.

This is going to be great for the ACC.

Pitt was 2012. The only highlight of that game, Jarrett's punt return TD off of the RVD mega-block.

The ST TD against UVA was a block in the end zone, not a return, but I agree that counts as far as BeamerBall is concerned.

"Exit light..."

2012 PITT?
We didn't play them in 2012. couldn't have, there's no W for that week.

This is going to be great for the ACC.

I do recall my mind imploding while watching this, but I was referring specifically to a kick return. I honestly don't remember the last one.

We haven't had one since 2012. Jarrett's punt return against Pitt and Demitri Knowles had a kickoff return TD against UNC a few games later.

"Exit light..."

But admit it...you thought there was a decent chance every time Stroman was back there...

Many times Stroman was back there, I thought for sure this was the one...a couple were shoestring tackles from being taken to the house.

Hell yeah...and if I had a nickel for every time one of his punt returns was called back because of a "block in the back penalty" after a sweet run, I'd be a very rich man...let's hope that stuff don't happen this season...:(

H_O_K_I_E_S-HOKIES!

For perspective, here is OSU vs the top 31 defensive teams last year (by scoring):
Win vs. #6 (Ala.) 42-35
Win vs. #7 (PSU) 31-24
Loss vs. #14 (VT) 21-35
Win vs. #17 (Wisc.) 59-0
Win vs. #22 (MSU) 49-37
Win vs. #27 (Mich.) 42-28
Win vs. #31 (Ore.) 42-20

It's not that inconceivable that OSU fans predict a blowout on a top defensive team as they scored a mean of 40.8 points (median of 42) against top 31 defensive teams. I performed an outlier test, and VT was not an outlier with a Z score of 1.63, but broaching the critical Z value of 2.02. Nevertheless, VT was far from the mean and median, so only fans with orange and maroon glasses are expecting a similar performance on defense.. If you have scarlet red glasses on, I'm sure you're expecting OSU to put up 40-42 pts on VT.

We'll see come labor day.

🦃 🦃 🦃

The teams that score 40 points vs VT by their offense puts them into real rarefied air.

This is going to be great for the ACC.

same goes for Alabama, Wisconsin, and MSU.

🦃 🦃 🦃

Bama has given up a ton of points to spread teams in recent years. There's a reason Saban has been so outspoken on slowing the game down. Bud at least has seen similar offenses and done well (Clemson comes to mind). Like with most things, match ups are key. So long as we get great coverage outside again, I think we'll match up pretty well with OSU.

If you play it, they will win.

"How the ass pocket will be used, I do not know. Alls I know is, the ass pocket will be used." -The BoD

1st game of the year. Defenses are more prepared than offenses. I don't see the score being that high. It'll be close and lower scoring than those games. Notice we were their 2nd game last year and we gave up the lowest points in that list. I think they played Navy before us and scored 34, which is also on the lower side of that mean.

A couple of things. It should be noted that the PSU score was after double-overtime. They only scored 17 points in regulation.

Also, in addition to the issues with scoring defense as a statistic, #31 is a really bizarre cutoff point. Why not top 25? Or at least include Minnesota (#34)? Just saying...

I don't think 11 Warriors represents the average OSU fan with a job, wife, kids and a mortgage.

Most fans I spoke to in Columbus, while provincial...thinking the world revolved around the Big 10, also thought that the game would not be a pushover and were excited to have a quality opponent on their home OOC schedule (sound familiar?).

Another team's fans think they are going to win the game?! Shocker!!

After reading the Eleven Warriors comments it seems there are loads of level headed fans on there. Sure, some batshit crazy ones but we have our fair share of those too.

But they certainly have every reason to feel confident. National Champions, were absolutely rolling all season after losing to us. 3 deep at QB with potential heisman caliber talent. If we had that we would all be saying the same thing.

If they're smart they throw the game and lose. Losing to us worked out well for them last year.

Are you talking about people on here?! Are you calling me crazy?!?!?!?!?!?!?@e12131!?!?!?

No, I *don't* want to go to the SEC. Why do you ask?

I can imagine no more rewarding a career. And any man who may be asked in this century what he did to make his life worthwhile, I think can respond with a good deal of pride and satisfaction:

The best part of Gayle's game was his unapologetic, profoundly high polished deep deep hatred of UVA.

I loved his tweet in response to Morgan Moses talking about shocking the world and signing with the hoos. Something along the lines of him remembering when he shocked him with that stutter step and put the qb on his back. lol

I expect the fan ratio (Home/Away) to be the same as it was for when we hosted Nebraska

I think it'll be a little more. Things OSU has over Nebraska: more alumni, closer proximity, returning national champ, decreased VT attendence since 2009

VT attendance wont be decreased on Labor day night against the defending national champs.
Everyone wants big time home games... and this is it.

We'll see. I think OSU is likely to have the best away turnout in Lane history

Well, if they do, we have only fellow Hokies(?) to blame, and shame on them in advance.

Reel men fish on Wednesdays

Not sure about that. I think the Nebraska fans probably travel a lot better than anOSU. They rolled in with lots of RV and rolls of cash to buy tickets. Nebraska has a home sellout streak how long? anOSU can't say that.

Nebraska is fantastic at traveling. As a whole, probably better than OSU. I just think the circumstances are going to have OSU edging out Nebraska

I'm going to do the same thing I did last year. Watch it with a big ole glass of bourbon. I'm a very superstitious man so I am slightly concerned I won't be sitting on the same couch but by god I'll drink extra booze to make up for it.

Taylor, looking desperately throws it deep..HAS A MAN OPEN DANNY COALE WITH A CATCH ALL THE WAY DOWN TO THE FIVE!!!!....hes still open

OK, as a TheOSU fan and 11W poster, yea some fans expect a blowout; but most figure it will be a close game. VT is a lot better than they looked last season and should be healthy come Labor Day. We lost some key guys on O and D so there will be some question marks since it is the first game and so the coaches won't be quite as willing to take gambles when they aren't as sure about the player's ability. For example, we lost our #1 deep threat guy in Devin Smith and Micheal Bennett on the defense. OTOH, our QB / RB combo isn't too shabby and we have some decent TE/WRs so it's not like we'll be on dimensional on O as we were last year against you guys. I don't think you'll be able to shutdown our O like you did last year.

I think the line should settle around 10 - 14 and would expect us to win but that it will be a hard fought game with some back and forth lead changes.

As for our fan base, we travel pretty well and should make a good showing. 50/50 is pushing it, but depending on ticket prices not exactly out of reach. I'd guess more 70/30.

Knowledge is Good - Emil Faber

Here here! Cheers to realistic fans and not being bashful I think the reason you guys struggled so much was because Meyer was terrified to take off the training wheels of JT I'm really curious what Buds gameplan will be.

Your backfield is scary good but our dline could give you guys some fits up front ultimately I think this game will be really close and it'll really come down to who capitalizes on the opportunities. Its gonna be a really fun game to watch I'm just pissed I'm graduating a semester to early..

Taylor, looking desperately throws it deep..HAS A MAN OPEN DANNY COALE WITH A CATCH ALL THE WAY DOWN TO THE FIVE!!!!....hes still open

I think the biggest challenge our backfield presents for your d-line will be our ability to get to the edge. We'll spread the field to stop you from focusing on our inside run game.

Meyer was a bit hesitant to open up but given the circumstances (New QB, unknown quantity at RB - hard to believe some people wanted Elliot to sit) it was understandable. I'm not sure Barrett and Elliot would have been BARRETT!! and ZEKE!!! in that game like they were as the season wore on.

Knowledge is Good - Emil Faber

The biggest problem with that is our ends are about the best in Div I at speed rushing around the edge and forcing things back to the middle.

Here's a question for you: How do you think you CB's will be this year? It looks like you have some questions at that position. Do you think they'll be able to keep up with our wide receivers, or will they be able to get behind coverage?

Knowledge is Good - Emil Faber

There's one name you need to be worried about: Brandon Facyson. If he's healthy, we have the best CB tandem in the country. Dude has insane closing speed and reactive quickness. He played with a bum leg last year until they shut him down and he took a medical redshirt. If he can't go, or isn't 100%, there are some concerns on the back end, especially at our nickel and FS spots. With new safeties, there's always a risk of a blown coverage, but hopefully Gray and Foster will get things worked out before the season starts. Of course, your QB could always just keep throwing to Fuller. That'd be nice of him.

Or, you know, pick on anyone who spells Fuller, just as these announcers said when Kendall had to come out with cramping...

Great post! Tons of respect for your program- National Championship level congrats. This is college football- the greatest of ALL sports. I look forward to a hard fought battle and after Labor Day weekend, I will wish the Buckeyes well on the remainder of your season. Warriors are judged by the strength of their enemies and by facing such competition our beloved Hokies are Mighty INDEED!

I cant be the only person here who reads this as Elven Warriors every single time.

Every. Single. Time.

Before I read any of your comments I'm just going to leave this here:

Of course they think it will be a blowout. So does everyone on thekeyplay.com

40 points? 50/50?

Since we're being absurd, my prediction is that, as the clock winds to zero, Sam Rogers kicks Joey Bosa's severed head through the uprights for his 14th extrapoint of the game. And when the coaches go to shake hands, Frank Beamer craps out a Papa Johns personal pepperoni pizza which Urban Meyer solemnly and dutifully chokes down at mid-field while skipper fires again and again until the last bite is consumed.

Does this mean all in attendance will be getting free windshield wiper fluid?

A conversation is on Reddit right now about a team's road presence. We have got to buy tickets. These guys are serious about travel. Here are the pics they have provided.

Recognize that in general you are talking about schools that have had monumentally bad years in the last decade. It isn't hard to take over an opposing teams stadium when they are in a multiyear slump. Remember our first trip to Wake Forest? We had 60% of the seats at least.

Not saying they will. But they will try to be as big a presence as possible, we did things to them in their house.

I thought I took the Northwestern one out, everybody travels well to their stadium it seems. And while yes, bad years, that scene at Michigan in 09 can't be excused. Wolverine fans should be ashamed of allowing that to take place.

We would be Rabid if the roles were reversed.
