Looking forward to attending this tonight. Another sign of improved athletic department and men's basketball program
Thank you for your patience as we worked out the details for a post season MBB student season ticket holder event. Please save the date of Tuesday, April 14 for an event at Hahn Hurst from 6 – 7:30 pm. The event will feature food, shooting contests, tours of Hahn Hurst, a group picture, Nike gear giveaways and more.
This event is exclusive for men's basketball student season ticket holders. Please RSVP here by Monday, April 13 at 5 pm: http://www.hokiesports.com/mbasketball/studentevent/ We will be checking the RSVPs to ensure the name and student ID line up with our student season ticket holders.
Please note, we will draw winners of Nike gear based on your attendance this season. For example, if you attended 1 home game, you will be entered into the drawing once. If you attended 7 home games, you will have 7 entries into the drawing. Likewise, if you win an item but are not present for the HH event, we will notify you and you will still win the item (pick up at a later date). However, there will also be opportunities to win additional items at the Hahn Hurst event itself (i.e. Shooting contests).
Tentative timeline:
6 PM: Check in and food available (Hahn Hurst main entrance)
6:15 PM: Group picture on court/welcome
6:20 – 7:15 PM: Shooting games, tours, etc
7:15 PM: Nike gear drawing winners announced/posted. Gear pick up.
7:30 PM: Event ConcludesThank you again for your support this season, and we hope to see you at Tuesday's event. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Dear Athletic department,
Thanks for inviting the pep band :.(
Yeah I went to all but one of the home games, I should get free nike stuff
Yeah, and I was at all of them. They could have used us to hype the event with music at the start of it and then given us a chance for free stuff and the opportunity to listen to Buzz. I'll earn my keep, but I like to get a thank you every once in a while too.
Anything for previous 4 year season ticket holders? Thanks Weaver.
some takeaways
Sounds like it was awesome, any idea of the turnout?
there were only about 50 of us but I honestly don't know how many students bought season tickets this year to give you a percentage of people who showed up that were invited
Apparently it was specifically for the first 50 people who bought season tickets last year. I guess they did that just to keep the numbers down. It was pretty cool though. Got to see the film room, weight room, training room and shoot around on the practice courts.
August 10th, 2009 the Hahn Hurst facility opens.
By April 14th, 2015 a major remodeling of the facility is in the works, scheduled to begin in June to include a complete facelift of the public portion of the space, as well as a complete upgrade of the training equipment to make it state of the art.
Sorry, I just find it a bit absurd that after only 6 years of use, the facility appears so out of date this was necessary. Did we seriously go that cheap the first time around?
I'm not sure its so much outdated as its Buzz putting his stamp on the place. Buzz is definitely a particular guy in that he wants things structured his way
I feel safe in saying that with what I heard from Buzz from tonight, he's gonna be in town for a while
yeah definitely. the thing that struck me the most was one thing they're doing in the remodel. outside of buzz's office there's going to be a wall mural of this year's team. Buzz said he wants to be reminded every day of the guys who finished the first year with him to remind of him of where the program came from
And this is all the mural really needs..
We tore down the wood chair railing throughout that office area back in December. I really do hope it's done sometime soon because it just looks awful.
