(OT) Jacksonville Jags mascot wins closest to the hole contest in full costume

The Jags mascot is former Hokie Bird Curtis Dvorak. Great guy met him at a post game tailgate some years ago. I don't play golf but am amazed the skill to pull this off.

Ever since the Hulu series Behind the Mask came out I have wondered if any Hokie Bird's made the move up. Great to see. Anybody know of any others?

Sir Purr (the Carolina Panther's mascot) was a Hokie Bird until 2003 but now it looks like Todd moved on to become the Sacramento King's mascot.

I think one of the other birds, Eric, went on to become the Baltimore Oriole for awhile but I'm not totally sure about that.

I pretty sure one of them became the Oriole bird. I recall seeing Sir Purr, the Oriole Bird and the Hokie Bird all on the field for the Hokie Bird's birthday in the early 2000s.

I remember going to a Temple game in like 01 or 02 and Sir Purr from the Carolina Panthers came up and was a former Hokiebird. Sir Purr got into mascot hijinks with the then current Hokiebird. Good times were had.

and that hit with the driver from his knees is just freakish. That's a crazy tough hole to land.

Is a jaguar better than a tiger at golf hmmm?

That guy is awesome, love his zipline entrances too. He sometimes hits against pros at halftime to see who can hit it closest to a target.

Hey look, Jacksonville won something! Glad to see it was a Hokie that was behind it :)

im a jags season ticket holder. (as embarrassing as that may be to admit I love football and any football is better than no football although barely in this case) I tailgate with a group called the bold city brigade and we do this tradition called circle up basically just a bunch of guys shotgunning beers every 15 min and running around in a big circle but Jaxon always comes and joins us (minus the beer of course) but I always give him a go hokies and he seems so surprised anyone knows its him lol. now he stops by our tailgate area every week to talk hokies football. he comes to the local hokie club meetings as well when he can as a guest speaker. great guy! best mascot in the NFL! and pretty dang good golfer. he has a platform on the upper deck that he does closest to the pin in between qtrs. (the flag is on the 50yrd line gotta be a good 500 yards away at least) and he's come within 10 ft a couple times. I have never seen him lose lol.

Was born 30 minutes away from Everbank Field. Love being a Jaguars fan. Are some of the bold city brigade members going to be at the draft again?

yes there is a group going up. I almost went with them. last season I travelled to fed ex field for the redskins jags game with the BCB (im a redskin fan when im not duval till I die) and planning on going to the saints game with the BCB this year as well.

Um, 500 yards, with an iron? Are we sure he isn't Happy Gilmore?

so...the middle of the football field is five football fields away? Dang. That's a really big stadium. And I thought the seats at Bristol were gonna suck...

I'm kinda surprised the mascot didn't shank it and crush somebody in the head the way the Jags go about their business. And they thought they were having a tough time selling season tickets now...

What a pro. Doesn't even break character hitting the green from his knees.

I had no idea that being a mascot in college could open such a career opportunity.

Haha me either! I wonder if there is a Mascot Draft.
