Nearly 100,000 fans attend OSU spring game

LINK

If Virginia Tech pulled off a miracle and won the national championship next year, do you think we'd fill Lane for the spring game in 2016? Would they start turning people away? Would Tech sell tickets?

Let's give them a little credit. They had some people show up.

I'm still going to make the joke though.

That is embarrassing but the disparity between VT and OSU attendance won't be much different. nearly 100k? good lord.

"How you doin', Randy?"

Combine a NC, with a state that lives and breaths that one school and you get attendance like that.

Ten biggest spring game crowds historically
99,341 – Ohio State (2015)
95,722 – Ohio State (2009)
92,310 – Alabama (2011)
92,138 – Alabama (2007)
91,312 – Alabama (2010)
84,050 – Alabama (2009)
83,401 – Auburn (2013)
81,112 – Ohio State (2012)
80,149 – Nebraska (2008)
78,526 – Alabama (2012)

Even more amazing is that you actually have to pay for tickets (only $5, students are free)
Nebraska has a $10 ticket price

There is only one school on here with professional football franchises in the same state, and those teams are the Browns and Bengals. So yeah..

The Dude Abides

And just let us all remember, do not let your friends sell their tickets for the OSU game. Please.

I wish this video with the the VT announcers voice over was available without the Student ticket info at the end. It would be all over my social media for my friends in Ohio. Any IT or video types that could edit this video down?

And boy won't they all be disappointed to open the season at 0-1 losing both games to the Hokies.

Disappointed and having to watch the game in a bar downtown 'cause they can't find a ticket=double disappointment.

Students were free at the game and they were estimating that 80,000 tickets were sold without the students. They did some cool things at half time like a throw-off between quarterbacks, a fastest buckeye competition, and a push-up competition between students and players. It was a good appetizer for the main course next weekend in Blacksburg.

May we all get what we want and never what we deserve.

Wait until they feel the wrath of the Terrordome people!

Tennessee is pushing for a 100K plus game this coming weekend. Doubt it happens but it could. Biggest crowd was about 76k one year.

We always do a legends flag football game at the half. I havent been in a few years (since having kids), but it was pretty cool the last time I went.

A legends flag football game at halftime, you say. Yes, please.

"Nope, launch him into the sun and fart on him on the way up"

"11-0, bro"

WHIT! YOU HEAR THIS?

Get Tyrod and KJ and the others back in town for a flag football game and we will PACK Lane.

Our legends are still in the NFL...

So they had 99,000 people, but did anybody watch to see how the team looked? Not that Spring Game says much, but just curious

Yeah, they realized who their first game was against and started having flashbacks.

There's always a lighthouse. There's always a man. There's always a city.

As a side note, when has any coach said "Yep. We're a powerhouse and I expect us to beat the tar outta everyone next year...?" Most of our starters were sidelined for much of the game as UM sat many of our key guys and moved others around to see how things might work. If things work out our receiver corps should be better than last year overall and our running game looks good as well.

Personally, I'm looking forward to seeing how good your pass defense will be if we use the slot receiver more this year.

They set an overall attendance record when we whooped their a** too.
