Man, you can't help but getting excited when Loefller is so pumped up! Sounds great things to come.

I keep on hearing little things about Terrell Edmunds. I can't wait to see that guy.

wow, Beamer looked tired out in that video.

been that way all spring. whatever he had done obviously took quite a toll...he's thin and his voice is altered. but he's out there, there is a gleam in his eye, and the coaches and players love him.

-- Loeffler coached Saturday's scrimmage from the press box, helping acclimate graduate assistant Greg Nosal to being in the booth this year as opposed to the sideline

Didn't realize that Nosal was a GA this year. Glad to see it.

Had to be in the booth. Too great a risk of reinjury to his finger on the sideline

I was at that game. I remember watching the trainers looking around on the field. Figured somebody lost a contact lens. Then I got home and found out he lost his fingertip and that's what they were looking for. Eww.

I thought his fingertip was still in his glove. Did it take them a while to figure that out?

I think that was the story. He took the glove off when he felt the pain, they looked on the field for it, and when they didn't find it, looked in the glove.

"Exit light..."

If I remember correctly, this happened at halftime and he finished the game.

Correct, and in doing so he punched his ticket to the BAMF Hall of Fame.

Was lucky enough to go to this scrimmage. Not being a football expert or anything, it seemed painfully obvious that Brewer is the best QB on the roster. Everything happens way too fast for Ford, and Motley appears closer but still a step or two behind mentally. I'm sure more reps will help close the gap, but I'll be shocked if Brewer doesn't get the majority of the snaps this season. I just hope he's improved from last year like Loeffler said he needs to be.

It has been exhaustively speculated that Brewer's added time with the offense and a year's worth of experience have left him better prepared for the coming campaign, and I am inclined to agree. With a good showing by a strengthened offensive line and several competent running backs and talented, experienced receivers, Brewer's
strengths should be heightened, his weaknesses diminished. Barring a meltdown/regression, or injury, I cannot envision another QB having any chance at all of supplanting him.
I, for one, am fine with that.

Reel men fish on Wednesdays

I remember last year that the QB battle was less of a fight to be the best QB, but more of a fight to not be the worst. It sounds like this year, Brewer is out to prove that he is the definitive best player on the roster. He wants to win the job, not back into it.

Last year we were told Brewer won the job on the strength of his decision making, and I dogged him for what I saw as bad decision throughout the year. That's the one improvement I want to see. I understand that he doesn't have the arm or the legs of a Michael Vick or a Tyrod Taylor, and I'm ok with that. He's proven that he's as tough as nails, and I certainly respect him for that. This year I hope to see consistently good decision-making, both pre-snap and in the pocket.

"Our job as coaches is to influence young people's lives for the better in terms of fundamental skills, work ethic, and doing the right thing. Every now and again, a player actually has that effect on the coaching staff." Justin Fuente on Sam Rogers

I am excited about this offenses potential. We got young capable receivers, TE's with playmaking ability (get healthy Cline, we need the depth), and some intriguing options at tailback. If JC can bring anything close to what he finished the year with and McMillan and Edmunds can step it up I think we can put up some points. Which seemed to a painful proposition last season.
