The Key Play's DBU Tee Shirt For Sale Now

Upgrade your maroon and orange wardrobe collection.

I've been itching to make a DBU tee shirt for some time. A few weeks ago I asked what y'all wanted on such a tee shirt and the overwhelming response was a simple design. Thank you to everyone who provided us feedback.

In the end a modified version of nubinile's suggestion was what I went with. (VTimHokie85's Defensive Back Polytechnic Institute and State University was brilliant, but couldn't fit on a shirt. If there's ever an opportunity to stream a message behind a plane over Lane, that's the obvious choice. Alum07's nominee for a silhouette of Kendall's tip was what was originally noodled around my brain, but it would open a can of trademark and potential NCAA violations.) As for design specifics: the "DBU" font is Futura Extra Bold Condensed and there's a white strike to make it pop. In order to make it stand out from the crowd a bit more, there a 3Γ—3" The Key Play logo on the left sleeve.

They're available for order from now until Sunday night. Click here to order now, as they won't be available come Monday. On Monday I'll let the printer know how many are needed. It'll take about 7-10 days to print, and they should leave our warehouse on May 13.

I've mentioned this before, but TKP's merchandise sales ensure operations run smoothly and provide the resources to expand and enhance TKP's content. If you buy a shirt, not only do you get a cool shirt, but you'll get more content.

Thank you for your support! Feel free to ask questions and leave comments.

I would've really liked the silhouette one and don't see how the NCAA could say anything if you can't see the player. It could be an image someone designed and there would be no way to prove different. That said these look cutesy, only is that Chicago maroon because it looks a little different?

Some people spend their entire life wondering if they made a difference, Marines don't have that problem

Poor Egbert.

Literally, poor Egbert. Everybody's using up his money.

Joe,

is there a way to order different sizes in the same order? I haven't figured that out yet. I'm probably just going to make 2 orders

Onward and upward

There is. Add one size to your cart, then click the home link, and then navigate back to a second size to order. Rinse and repeat.

It's kind of a pain in the butt, but it's the best the software can do.

Joe soon:

Question: is the maroon true Chicago maroon. It seems harder and harder to find

It's Gildan maroon (says so on the order page). I don't know what "true Chicago maroon" is, but by my eyes it looks like every other maroon shirt that any of the bookstores in Blacksburg carry.

Joe, I am an employee at Gildan. Next time looking to make bulk purchase. Contact me. I will assist with discount any way possible to help the community.

I would like to thank my parents, the Academy, and most of all Mr. Lanza for making this t-shirt in my honor, possible.

Wiley, Brown, Russell, Drakeford, Gray, Banks, Prioleau, Charleton, Midget, Bird, McCadam, Pile, Hall, Green, Fuller, Williams, Hamilton, Rouse, Flowers, Harris, Chancellor, Carmichael, Hosley, Fuller, Exum, Jarrett

Seconded

Been feeling pretty guilty recently for how much I post on here and had yet to contribute anything other than my non-literal 2 cents (broke college kid here folks), but this shirt gave me a great opportunity. Can't wait to get mine in the mail, and I'm gonna market the heck out of this thing and hope my friends think it's as cool as I do.

"It might be dark outside, but it's LeDay in here." - Jay Bilas

LOVE IT!

Random Note: Had no idea until the other day that their is an actual "DBU" - Dallas Baptist University (if they had a football team I would assume they would answer all questions in the country of who the "Real" DBU is) But until they get a football team - WE ARE

Thanks for the quick answer on my time out question. First time poster here as well but I've long appreciated the product you all provide.

Did you ask if this shirt was in stock?

Wow Weavez22 ... Bravo on that find!

Done! And thank you Joe.

Ordered two, if for no other reason than I suggested Futura Extra Bold Condensed and Joe made it happen...well played, sir. Large for me, small for the wifey (she was mad I didn't get her one last go round).

My wife is jealous of my Horse on a Treadmill shirt. She thinks it's awesome. One day I'm sure she'll steal it and it will simply become part of her wardrobe.

"Exit light..."

People tell me they like that shirt and don't even know it has anything to do with Tech or football or anything. They just like the shirt.

All good shirts/hoodies go to die in the wife's wardrobe

Preach it, brother. I also have (had) a really comfortable pair of flannel pants I got as a Christmas gift a few years ago. That night, she took them (she was cold, which is a perpetual state because she is from Florida) and I have never worn them.

I'd rather be "ACC Champions" than "DBU", but maybe thats just me. These self given titles dont mean squat.

And I'd rather be National Champions than ACC Champions, but that doesn't mean "DBU" don't mean squat. IMHO, of course.

In the WWII reenacting community they use the term "khaki nazi" to make fun of the guys who insist that every shade of OD#3 fabric, used for every item, manufactured in every facility across the US, dyed by inexact processes was the exact same shade of magical "khaki".

We've had the uniform debates and all, but I really hope people don't start getting picky about what they will and won't wear because it's not the correct shade of maroon.

Do you reenact? My Brother-in-Law used to do Civil War, and so did and old friend of mine. We used to get shitfaced at parties and start doing scenes from various war movies at parties. He could do the whole Sam Elliot speech from Gettysburg. We thought it was hilarious, others evidently didn't. That's an interesting subculture right there.

I did too. Confederate Infantry. Portsmouth Rifles.
Until a spinal tumor made primitive camping something I could no longer do.
My wife and I had a blast doing that.

Got pulled over once by a nice Trooper out in nowhere west of Glouster Point to see the muzzle loader rifle I had slung across my back while riding my motorcycle on rt 17 out to a reenactment out by Front Royal.

He suggested I get a car if I was going to cross the state with a rifle that had a long barrel like that.

This is going to be great for the ACC.

I assume Cedar Creek? 4th USV Regular reporting in.

Yeah.
That one is a blast for the night maneuvers.

A company firing a volley in the dark is just cool to do.

100 black powder rifles firing at once in tight formation is just outstanding.

This is going to be great for the ACC.

Yeah, that's a fun one. Brought my wife out to her first reenactment last Fall there. She probably would have enjoyed it more if she wasn't 10 weeks pregnant at the time and it was insanely cold that weekend.

That is the coldest of all the reenactments.
It was my wife's first reenactment. About 28 F in a canvas tent on straw.

FTFY.
Seriously though, went to those annually growing up, looked forward to October. (Edit: spectator)

I started to get into it while I was in college. I had 3 distant relatives from Bedford in the 29th ID that died on Omaha Beach or shortly after D-Day. Once I found that out, I dove in head first into WWII history, specifically D-Day and the 29th ID and the Bedford Boys. From that I wanted to get into reenacting but as a college student working 20-30 hours a week I didn't really have the time to spend doing it on the weekends. Over a few years, I ended up amassing a collection of uniforms and field gear, which I am now slowly selling off as the stuff needs to be put to good use in some other way, rather than taking up space at my house.

Every school has their unique color. Carolina blue, Duke blue, Scarlett red, whatever. Not just "blue"

To be fair, hard to confuse Duke blue and Carolina blue.

Agreed. But if you are NC State, or Nebraska, Southern Cal, Ohio State, Alabama, Wisconsin, you know your specific shade of red vs other schools shade of red.

Ordered mine and shared on FB. Maybe you'll get a few more orders.

Joe - Facebook share isn't working for me. Is it because I'm trying it on Safari? iPhone and iMac both just post a link back to "Facebook.com".

Thanks for the heads up, something seems off. Facebook might have changed its API, I'll have to look into it. If you copy and paste a link directly onto your Facebook that should work fine.

I panicked.

I had opened this tab in Chrome when Joe made the post with all intentions of ordering... then I forgot about it until just now. THE SHOP IS STILL OPEN, PRAISE BE TO THE TKP! I thought I'd missed out, but I was still able to place an order for myself and my wife.
