Well, tonight's the big night. Anyone got any $$$ on this? Of course it would've been worth more in 2010. But oh well. Who do y'all pick to win? Enjoy! Mayweather is favored between -220 to -225 over Manny (-199).
EDIT: Sorry. I mean tonight (as in Sat, May 2nd). My apologies.

Btw, my personal thoughts: I ultimately pick May, however, if he gets too arrogant and buys into his own shit during the fight, slim chance Paqman could take it by decision. No KO tonight.
VT Rugby team's pig roast said they were gonna try to stream it
I dont watch boxing, so apologies if I'm being completely retarded, but isnt the fight tomorrow night?...
Takin' Manny all the way. May somewhat struggles w southpaws at times. If Manny can come out agressive and win an early round or two....its may set the tone.
I can see it goin eithr way tho. I just hope it lives up to the expectations.
Tomorrow night is the big night, not tonight. I'm going with Pacquiao, Mayweather is scared.
If Manny can set the tempo and tone, he wins. But that's gonna be really, really hard against Mayweather. One thing that May's probably not used to, though, is that Manny isn't going to get frustrated. It should be a hell of a fight. I say Mayweather by split decision but hope to see a knockout by Manny.
I should have been a boxer...
Rooting for Pacman. But my brain says Mayweather wins.
They're both past their prime
Mayweather wins it will be his usual boring style but ill watch. why not
$99 is one reason why not. Back in my youth, my dad and I always watched the big fights, along with the Friday Night Fights. What killed the sport for me was when they quit broadcasting the matches and started making folks go to arenas and theaters to see what had been free forever. Ruined the sport. Might make some cringe, but I long for the days of Howard Cosell and the REAL big championship fights. For most sports fans, I believe the age of boxing has passed by.
Amen.
Boxing is now sold to the masses pretty the same way that porn is.
Streamed for free on a website that pirates the video and is likely to give any PC a virus?
I know nothing of boxing and won't be watching the fight, but I'm rooting for Pacman.
Hoping pacman wins! Just don't like May's attitude.
Or the fact that he's beat up at least 5 women and never faced any repercussions. Dude is a total creep.
You mean reprercussions from boxing. He did go to jail.
And yes...he's a creep.
He faced repercussions once, out of many instances, and none professionally ala Ray Rice
His "camp" also pulled the press pass for several prominent female sports reporters who had asked questions about his actions in the past. Disgusting.
Yeah what a weirdo. At least for their sake they won't be prone to any abuse.
I stopped watching boxing when buddies and I bought the PPV for the Tyson fight back in 87 or so that lasted like 14 seconds.
Wasted my money, which I did not have and between that and the baseball strikes and Ursay's stunt with the Colts, I'd had enough of pro sports.
Except at a glance I did not watch another pro sport until my wife became a NASCAR fan in about 98 or so. Then I only watched to keep her company.
The next was probably the Raven's during the run to the SF Superbowl. I watched some NFL last year, mostly to track Hokies.
I still don't have the least interest in boxing anymore.
That was also the last time I paid for a fight. I think I paid either a $100 for a pair, or $100 each when I took my girlfriend to see it at the George Mason arena (Patriot Center?). I was so pissed that they wouldn't even show the replay. They just turned up the lights and pretty much said, "Thanks for your cash, now GTFO".
I loved Tyson, though. I remember becoming a fan of his very early on. He was fighting every couple of months when he first started. And I remember watching one of those early fights from Champions in Georgetown on a busy Friday or Saturday night, on what I believe was regular TV. I remember myself yapping something about Tyson going 100-0 and making a billion dollars before he was done. He was just so devastating.
Then Cus D'Amato died, and that was that.
Found out for a friend of mine who manages a bar down here in Coastal SC, a they are being charged 5k to broadcast the fight. That cost is for ANY business that wishes to show it.
Yeah, covers are pretty ridiculous at most places because of that price tag.
Asked a sports bar in VA tonight if they were showing it and they said no, that it would be too expensive. Something about having to pay by square ft of the place and number of TVs showing it...
They had to pay based in part on what their capacity was, the buffalo wild wings in blacksburg had to pay over $5,000. In order to turn a profit most places charged a cover to get in, anywhere from $10 to $25.
Ok gotta ask why is this fight in so late? The largest population in on the Eaat Coast and the fight isn't happening till after 11pm?
I heard that part of it was not wanting to compete with playoff basketball, but honestly it's just to piss off Jim Weaver.
Every big fight in Vegas happens 8 or 9 pm Vegas time (11-12 eastern). They make a lot of money from bets and attendance.
It was on late so that people in the Philippines could watch at reasonable time. Contract stipulation for Pacman.
This is a pretty good fight. It's close.
Paqman needs a KO in the 12th in order to win.
So I've never watched a boxing match, but the word "underwhelming" comes to mind for this one. Am I being clueless?
Lmao that's exactly what Aaron Rogers tweeted!
Hahaha I knew I loved the guy
Dan Raf calls it May 116-112
Whelp, there's a reason "defense wins championships."
Called this one the moment the fight was announced. Boring as shit fight with May in full defense. Pacman having some life, but decision to May for his "precision" jabs.
ugh... at least they can make 4 times the money in the rematch...
I doubt there will be a rematch. Mayweather is so scared of losing he will just retire before he has a rematch.
That's exactly what he's going to do.
He said one more fight in Sept to match Marciano's record at 49-0 and then that's it (unless of course, he pulls a George Foreman).
Yeah, I'd call that a death knell for the sport of boxing. Mayweather beats the system, not his opponent. So boring to watch.
Floyd Mayweather. The UVA basketball of boxing.
That's the ultimate insult, except the difference is that he actually wins championships.
That might be a little harsh to UVa. At least those guys can read.
Yeah, ok. I guess I just figured they had people that read to them.
That would be the UNC basketball of boxing.
Oh. I stand corrected!
