Color swap: ACC rival edition

The folks at Reddit are actively biding their time just as we are until the season kicks off. It looks like they've done this previously with a few conferences already, but the person who made these is definitely getting better. I've included loluva and the good guys. Feel free to take a look at the others (some of which I think look pretty good): http://m.imgur.com/a/gEc4p

Good guys in bad guys colors...

And...those guys. (They are not worthy)

Disgusting, isn't it?

Here's a link to the Reddit thread if you want to check out the other conferences:

The Orange and Maroon you see, that's fighting on to victory.

Why would you do such a thing, for shame!

I think the Clemson/USCe swap looks pretty good.

I don't know what this is but I can't stop laughing at it.

Leg for TF2.

I find this disgustingly interesting because I've often wondered what the world would be like if Virginia Tech had picked colors someone else was already using. You know, the opposite of why they picked maroon and orange.

What if we were purple and gold, or green and orange, or blue and white?

I think the uniqueness of our color combo helps us recognize fellow Hokies around the world. I mean if you're walking down the street 1,000 miles from Blacksburg and you see someone in a maroon and orange polo, you know! But if you see someone in a red and white shirt....well, whatever.

I see what you did there.
Ahem...anOSU...
Well done. Leg!

Not gonna lie, I really enjoyed feeling like I was in some underground society in Columbus. Pass a Hokie on the street before the game and give a quiet, subtle "go Hokies" and a head nod, which was returned in kind. After the game, every single maroon-clad fan got a high five and a boisterous "GO HOKIES!" It was a good night.

Sept 7th can't get here quick enough!

Pain is Temporary, Chicks Dig Scars
Glory is Forever, Let's Go Hokies!!

I met a few Hokies in Sandusky Ohio (at the world's greatest rollercoaster park) a few weekends before the game and it was the same way.

The conversations started "Where ya from" and quickly turned to "It'll rock the world if they win" to "I like their chances". And always ended with "Go Hokies"!

I think it impressed my 12-yr-old son that there were Hokies EVERYWHERE, like a secret brotherhood.

My wife is always shocked about where we find Hokies. Hawaii, California, freaking France. We're everywhere, and the orange and maroon makes us so easy to spot.

It was a catch

I went to visit my wife in Bahrain and there were hokies there too..lol. There's a Hokie bar here in San Diego. We really are everywhere.

I went the other way with it. Was loud as hell welcoming each and every Hokie to Columbus and reveling in the hype . After the game, seeing a bunch of really pissed off fans lumber through the city, I gave the subtle "Go Hokies" firstbump and got the hell out of town, felt like there was a chance for some venting of frustrations.

I would like that design for maroon pants. The tapered orange stripe down the side should be a bit longer IMO, coming down to the knee. The jersey is worthless, completely plain. But I do like the orange jersey/maroon sleeve combo.

Seeing our own unis in other colors makes me realize how generic our design is.

Best gif for this thread.

Surprisingly enough, the VT remakes are among the favorites over on Reddit. Seems most people aren't too keen on the color Orange to begin with. Can't fault them for that.

I think my favorite is Pitt. They look good in PSU colors.

The first pick reminded me of Glennon beating GT in Atlanta on Holloween while wearing a Yellow jacket jersey. Not bad.

The second pic gave me acid reflux.

The third pic made me think that even if LOLUVA adopted our color scheme, they would still be bad.

Why wouldn't they? They'd finally LOOK like a football team...

I seriously need a counter somewhere in my household to remind me how many days that it's been

> 10

I and another assistant scoutmaster led a group of ten scouts on a Philmont Trek back in 2010. (For the non-scouts in the crowd, Philmont is THE Boy Scout Mecca...Located in the mtns of New Mexico, it's about as big as Charlotte, NC and groups of 12 go out on 12 day backpacking treks ranging from 60 miles to 120 miles.)

My co-leader was fascinated at the amount of Hokie swag that we saw when we encountered groups from around the country on the trail. I, of course, was not fascinated, as it was expected.

Leonard. Duh.

Is that anywhere near Taos? I was down there for a multi-day rafting trip and swear I remember we ran into a bunch of scouts, or maybe it was a bunch of college kids... Either way Leg for reminding me of a great trip!

in Fuller we trust

It's about 60 miles east of Taos. You probably ran into a bunch of scouts. Most groups do a couple of days in the surrounding area to get acclimated to altitude, etc. We stayed in Colorado Springs before heading in. Lots of groups will either do Taos, Raton, Albuquerque, or Colorado Springs.

I LOVED it out there. 10% RH in July was a rare and special gift.

Leonard. Duh.

Its close to Taos (Beautiful drive through the mountains through Angel Fire and Eagle Nest, NM to get there)

I handle the retirement program for the Scouts up there in Cimarron, and there (or at least were) a couple of Hokies on staff the last time I was up there in the winter to present. They gave me a great jeep tour of the place, but I seriously saw maybe about 1% of the property if that. The high country there is phenomenal, and I am not an outdoorsman by any stretch of the imagination.

There you go... Hokies ERRRYWHERE.

Leonard. Duh.

I wonder what that looks like in sign language....

Onward and upward

For some reason I find the WVU one more offensive.

"That kid you're talking to right there, I think he played his nuts off! And you can quote me on that shit!" -Bud Foster

Guess they didn't make one with us in GT colors since we already know what that looks like...

@VTimHokie85

It looks like an ass whooping by a QB wearing bee colors: 27-3

FOSTERS: Australian for defense

For some reason my first thought was that we were wearing Southern Miss uniforms, not WVU colors. That blue on Brewer in both the WVU and UVA unis just looks like a really, really old faded color of maroon. Am I the only one seeing this?

Dear Reddit,

Sincerely
Every college football fan ever

You shut your mouth sir!

There are some damn creative folks, and some of the game threads are top notch, and the tras talk and hate threads are always lovely. One of the best forums for talking college football with a wider perspective then just your own school there is.

I mean take this guy, he is able to piss off hundreds if not thousands, just with color, COLOR. If that isnt praise worthy I dont now what is.

Easy there killer.

I think his post was more a knock on desecrating jerseys with rivals colors, as opposed to the quality of Reddit posts.

NEVER! We got two speeds up in here, killing and passed the fuck out, its like a race, if you aint first yourre last.

And besides I didnt even insinuate that he was born out of wedlock to a woman of the evening.

Btw, ive found you over there on r/cfb. I've been lurking there forever, but didn't start posting until recenty (I'd say within the past -8 months or so)

Definitely my go to site regarding all things college football.

Well awesome to hear. I lurked for most of the 2013 season before setting up an account. There are maybe 15-20 regular VT posters now, down from about 40-50 in season so everyone helps.

The again Ive only seen 3 UVA fans in the past week there.

Its also where I am most of the time. I check here for the funnies and team specific analysis and TSL for some of the neat historical articles, most actual discussion I do over there.

In Russia?! Eesh how do you feel about the Kremlin monitoring your every move??

In all honesty, Russia is not a bad country at all. It's just that the media only reports the negative news about it because nobody wants to read good things about their rival. It does take some getting used to though. The culture is very different. I would suggest to everybody though to visit Moscow and St. Petersburg at least once in your lifetime. They are two of the most beautiful cities in the world.

Yeah I didn't mean to sound like I was bashing Russia itself. My comment was based more on the big brother factor there potentially being greater than in the US (I have no factual evidence supporting any of this, just going off of stereotypes)

They do like to keep track of foreigners. I guess it goes back to the soviet days. It doesn't bother me though. I don't do anything wrong here so if they want to waste their time and follow me around, then have at it. I personally (knocks on wood) have never been bothered.

They're all just so WRONG!!
