Some are better than others. I like the Illini, ECU, and could evens say that VT's version is no worse than the Foghorn TurkeyLeghorn that adorned the lids a few years back.

the comments on that page are rather cruel, but humorous.
Man who ever did the photoshop for these lids needs some lessons quick. Half of them looked over stretched or poorly placed. I couldn't even tell what the Oregon Ducks one was and the Kentucky one would be a slap in the face if I was a football player. It actually looks like they did it just to do it with little thought behind it and threw it out to join the 'cool" crowd.
As for the VT attempt, it looks like a Tribal headdress! I'd rather have the the tacky turkey feet helmet anyday over this creation born from boredom
even the Hokie Stone helmet, though hard to see clearly from a TV set, was better
I actually liked the turkey tracks and the Hokie Stone. The giant Turkey Blob was another story.
But agree, haphazard photo shot work at best.

UK one is funny, since...football helmet.
VT one is not describable. It stinks.
They mainly just superimposed the schools logos not much thinking outside the box. I think that a few have some potential, but mostly bleh

Clearly whoever made these just did it on a whim because they were bored. They're all. Just. Awful.

The Army and Vanderbilt ones are the only really good ones on here. The rest looks like someone used MS Paint
Turrible, just turrible. It appears very little thought and lots of photoshop work. I think even Maryland would turn their nose at these.
Those concepts are some of the strangest ones I have seen. None of them are particularly good. I think I will stick with trusting in Nike to design our helmets. They have only made a couple bad ones.
Maybe the tail should have gone in the back? I'm not a galliformes expert, though.
