Bitter blog - Will the Hokies ever have a receiver join the 1,000-yard or 10-touchdown club?

So you're telling me there is a chance?

I can imagine no more rewarding a career. And any man who may be asked in this century what he did to make his life worthwhile, I think can respond with a good deal of pride and satisfaction:

Probably this year, given the 15 game season Tech is about to play.

You beautiful delusional bastard!!! I like the way you think.

If you play it, they will win.

without reading the article (yet...I'm about to) I gotta believe we're going to have at least a 10-TD receiver one of these days...that doesn't seem like that much of a reach

Once we get Loeffler's system firing on all cylinders, I think a 1,000 yard receiver is bound to happen.

Also...

But also remember Tech has thrown the ball more in three years under offensive coordinator Scot Loeffler than it has at any time under Frank Beamer.

Scot's only been here two years.

Yes. Thank you. I fixed it. Statement still stands that VT's thrown it more with him as OC than anytime under Beamer.

Yeah, the passing records at VT should pretty much crumble when Lefty gets a QB who can run his system. That might be as early as this season.

EDIT: NVM...just checked and either I was hallucinating earlier or it's been fixed.

Andy, also to to add a thought, I hope it doesn't irk you if we point out some typos like this. I'm trying to be helpful when I do it. With the pace of your content production, I figure there's no way you have time to proof everything thoroughly, and I know I appreciate it when someone points out a typo in my writing I didn't catch. Not trying to be Comic Book Guy at all.

Hey, if it's wrong, it's wrong. I want to fix it as soon as possible. So this helps.

Do your editors know that we're that good at their job...

If Bucky stays past this year, I think there's a very good chance he could get 1k yards or 10 TDs. Especially if he's dealing with a 1st year QB in 2016, who tend to lean heavily on TEs until they completely grasp the playbook.

Given how much people talk about the milestone, I wouldn't have guessed it's only due to a technicality. Kind of takes the fun out of rooting for it.

if we don't have a 1000 YD Receiver, a 1000 YD Rusher, and a QB who throws for 4000+ YDs and 30+ TDs then Loeffler should be fired! This is his 3rd year and I expect to see an offense that ranks in the top 5 in every category or else!!! /s

that would give me such a stats boner....dreams....

haha..yeah me too

sidebar: Andy, is that a research question you'd be interested in? Has any team accomplished that feat that I outlined as an ultimatum for Loeffler?

Oregon and Colorado State did it last year.

ECU came up 131 rushing yards short.

Western Kentucky came up 175 receiving yards short.

Cool!

Nice work Andy :D

There is nothing in the world like Thursday night in Blacksburg!

My first though...maybe.

My second thought, probably not.
