Hopefully he visits Blacksburg for the spring game or one of the two junior days.
Confirmed that 2014 #1 Da'Shawn Hand will visit #Michigan March 16th and 17th for spring practices. Big visit for obvious reasons.— Steve Lorenz (@TremendousUM) March 4, 2013

Thanks for sharing - always good to know what's going on out there. We all know he likes Michigan a lot, but hopefully proximity to home, Bud, and Hokie Nation can convince him to stay in state.
Michigan is the team to beat
Hand keeps citing his enthusiasm to study engineering as a big part of his decision. As such I expect Michigan to be the biggest hurdle to him becoming a Hokie. I don't think this is a kid that can be swayed by Saban and the SEC big boys.
Michigan is the team we need to worry about, but I think overall, we are the team to beat. Hopefully it stays that way.
On the bright side, Michigan is probably the one school in this race that we can use the "well, at least we have nicer weather" bit against.
You'd have to imagine that, at the very least, he will be at the Spring Game. I mean we are definitely in his top 2 and that just seems like a no brainer for him to do. Someone, more clever than me, needs to come up with t-shirts something like "Get your Hand on an ACC trophy" or "Lend us a Hand in filling the trophy case"
Those are good
I feel like there are just so many possibilities for Hand in terms of awesome nicknames. Hopefully we can spend a good bit of time next signing day discussing our favorites that we've spent the last 2 years thinking about.
anyone heard anything about when he plans on deciding? I know sometimes people either hear or get the feel that a player is going to wait until signing day. Would love to get him early and attract other talent.
I read somewhere last night that said he would decide sometime near signing day. Who knows how credible it was though.
The kid is just a Sophmore, he's got a lot of time to think.
junior..
He's a junior currently. He has one more year of high school football.
Jeez
Thats embarrassing, my bad
you must be on the 7 year program.
All good.
Haha it's all good. Just wanted to make sure it was clear lol
From what I've seen while following his recruitment, he seems like a guy that won't wait too long to decide. I almost got the impression he was getting tired of his recruitment. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if he was committed to a school before October, or even before the season starts.
I do believe Michigan...
Is the team to beat too. Bud foster is his favorite coach, but Michigan is his favorite staff. I believe he said that in an interview a while back. He also stated that if he went their he would study Business. So that says he has put a lot of thought into them.
also says we have the upper hand if engineering ends up being a big factor in his decision
Weird
Michigan's engineering program is outstanding. I don't get why he would go there for business when he seems so interested in engineering.
Maybe I'm just slightly biased since there business school is named after Stephen Ross, the dipshit GM of my favorite NFL team. Don't do it Hand!
I think you mean dipshit owner of your favorite NFL team.
Whoops, yeah
The brass in Miami are all dipshits so it's an easy mistake to make.
Gotta reply to my own comment
Can't find the video of the interview. But TSL has notes in an article titled "Hand Breaks Down Top 5" Says the same thing I said above.
one more
So he has it narrowed down to just a Handful of schools?
Broken down in alphabetical order
Alabama, Michigan, North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia Tech

Found it
How about
We want our HAND in everyone's backfield.
that just
sounds dirty. hahaha
If we are going dirty..
We can just have shirts that say "We just gave your QB a Hand job"
That sure escalated quickly....
Like this?
If Hand comes to VT, he would be The Hand that Rock the Quarterback.
Michigan...
I Hope Hand gives Michigan the Finger!
Sorry, I couldn't help myself.
