Vincent Fuller: Life after the NFL

The magazine of the Pamplin College of Business ran a feature on Vincent Fuller this month chronicling how he and his family have valued education in accord with their football accomplishments. This quote should be painted on the wall of the film room or something:

I felt that if I was challenging myself academically, it would translate into challenging myself mentally in football. I could pick things up more quickly in the film room and on the field, where it's important to recognize a changing situation and react instantly.

It's great to see him succeeding off the field, as he's expecting to receive his J.D. from Fordham in 2017. Cheers to Vinnie (Vinny?), and also to Vincent Sr. and Nina for raising four fantastic young men. We've been #blessed to have them all at Virginia Tech, on and off the field.

man, I love the Fullers!

Onward and upward

Stuff like this is why I'm prouder than ever to have bought Mama Fuller a beer before the Ohio State game. That woman deserves a lifetime of freebies.

Great article, thanks for sharing!
Those Fullers will get after ya

I can imagine no more rewarding a career. And any man who may be asked in this century what he did to make his life worthwhile, I think can respond with a good deal of pride and satisfaction:
“I served in the United States Navy"

edit* The only disturbing thing I find about this article is that there is no mention of any little Fullers that are here or soon to be here to be part of the future DBU secondary..

Way to go Vinnie!

You're just ready to whip that thing out of your back pocket at the drop of a hat aren't ya?

hahaha.... it's the Swiss army knife of gifs for all things fullers. works for every occasion.

Hate to see the last one leave soon but it's been great seeing them all be successful....

Given that he will likely be in the first round I couldn't blame him. However, given the family history of staying all four years, I wouldn't be surprised if he stayed either. I would love for him to stay but expect him to go.

There is nothing in the world like Thursday night in Blacksburg!

If I remember correctly, Kyle only stayed the 4th year so that he could play a season with his brother.

Just an awesome family, thanks for sharing the article, and thanks for sharing some of my shenanigans.

No mention of baby Fullers yet...sigh...

@AMB4VT

Give it time... The GrandFullers will be here before you know it.

Leonard. Duh.

Eventually, and the play by play for Tech football in 30 years is going to sound like:

"Fuller snaps the ball to Fuller. Fuller fakes the hand-off to Fuller and looks downfield. Fuller throws over the middle, and It's caught by Fuller. Fuller breaks a tackle, and there goes Fuller! Fuller, all the way! Touchdown Tech!"

The Orange and Maroon you see, that's fighting on to victory.

You forgot to mention the block thrown by Sam Rogers who is still enrolled, finishing up his 5th PhD because the NCAA is too afraid to tell him he's no longer eligible.

Is this before or after he becomes the NFL's first active Hall of Famer?

No, I *don't* want to go to the SEC. Why do you ask?

We don't love dem Hoos.

I brought this up to Mrs. Fuller when I met her. She said "NOOOOOOPE NOT YET! Vinny is in law school, and the other three are too young and too smart for that right now."

She said she'd get probably baby fever in a few years, though.

That right there is a family who all have their head on straight and their priorities in line, which comes straight from Mama and Papa Fuller.
