100% due to salary cap space. Need more secondary players, not fewer. And he left no dead space on the cap. Had to be done...

Addition by subtraction

As much as I agree the skins need more secondary players, maybe this is a way of them being able to actually afford some players that can play corner and not just be a slot corner/safety/whatever he feels like playing today(basically a whip/rover).

He has made some plays and will be a nice fit with say...the Patriots (cough/gag)..but it is time for the skins to get some youth that can play right away and keep improving.

As a Pats fan i hope Belichick signs him. Hes done wonders with players that have big ego's. And will get everything he can out of Hall unless it turned into a Haynsworth situation.

This was the correct move for the Redskins. They need young talent in the secondary.
