Frank favors an early signing period for recruits. However, that proposal was tabled until 2016.

To an easily amused and impressed person like myself, the Beamer Boat, complete with maroon and orange sails, tucked away in the photo shared by the Virginia Tech athletics football Twitter feed caught my attention. Whether it's a clipper, barque or schooner, it's the hottest thing anchoring a desk in Blacksburg.

I just found this press release about that:

Frank's desk is a lot cleaner and more organized than mine.
I bypassed the article and came right here. Let me guess: "they had a ton of young kids last year, they'll be much tougher now with a year under their belts, their size and speed.....they'll get after you, they are just a tough well coached bunch, when you play at this level the hits come harder and more often, that B10 is known for it's toughness, win or lose I don't know just as long as we improve as a team every week, we have to get better, I like our chances on defense but the offense needs to get better as a team, Urban is a legend, I'd like to fill that trophy case before I leave, 3 starting QBs and they can all get after you".

Beamer is using the same exact phone model that I have on my desk right now at work. That's super exciting. My chances of being phone buddies with him have now increased marginally!

pro-tip. Peel it off then rub nail polish remover on the residual sticky parts left on plastic cover. Let sit for 5 mins and wipe. Should come clean off. repeat if not.

Biggest takeaway there: Beamer's voice sounds much improved. Not only from December but maybe even from the past couple years. Finally doesn't constantly sound like some old guy with a loogie halfway up his throat. At least over the phone.
He spoke down here in March for a HC event. He sounded good, and seemed more lively than in the past.
That's great to hear. Last summer, he seemed like he looked less like an "old guy" than he had been recently. I'm glad it looks like that trend is continuing.
I know it's been implied already, but that is a "ship".
