10. Augie Conte, OL, Virginia Tech
The Hokies' returning starter at offensive guard boasts a 440-pound bench press, a 575-pound back squat and can power clean 390 pounds. On a team that always seems to have a physical presence on the line of scrimmage, he's the weight-room standout. Does it translate to the field? Well, against Ohio State's vaunted defense, in an upset Hokies win, he had six knockdown blocks.
I am surprised he is on there and Wyatt isn't considering they are very close to another in lifting. Hopefully it translates to the field this year.
The #1 guy's numbers are ridiculous.

Maybe a little out of date
Hey now, Newsome's gone. We can expect stuff like this again without mocking it or being mocked by it.
VT has had some awesome athletes on the O line even during the bad years. Just not 5 top guys playing as a unit. Just look at the number of O lineman who have gotten a Shot in the the NFL from those years. It's because the kids were great workout players and great athletes.
Well, they didn't say if it was our defense or offense...
Watching us play against any power run team I wouldn't say dline either...
This isn't necessarily directed at this post (excuse me for using it as a jumping off point) but it's really amazing what winning will do for perception.
Ohio State had a good but not great run defense last year (34th in ypg, 43rd in ypc, 90th in rushing TD allowed, 31st in rushing S&P+, 47th in adjusted line yards) and their fans are talking about being the best front 7 in college football. VT had a good but not great run defense last year (39th in ypg, 40th in ypc, 22nd in rushing TD allowed, 14th in rushing S&P+, 7th in adjusted line yards) and some fans are complaining about the front 7 being too small/weak, getting mauled by bigger o-lines, and being one of the worst against the run.
He's a big 'ol boy, I would hope he would put up some big numbers.
So Baylor is strong
Right? Jesus
410 pound Tight End?....Tight. End.?
Really?.... Tight End?
It's a shame he isn't here. He'd be throwing passes and trucking guys on QB keepers.
I love that powerlifting is a high school sport in Texas.
How is Sam "Drago" Rodgers not on the list? Revision needed.
He was disqualified for eatting the 45 lbs plates like cookies
