Some great numbers...
Imagine how much force Vinston Painter could get on a pass pro punch with those type of weight room numbers. Stinespring should pay extra focus on Painter until he "gets it" because seems like VP is athletic as well as strong. With the 40 time I saw posted for him before he should be able to move his feet.
David Wang sure is explosive! The power clean, push jerk, and vertical makes it seems like he should fire off like a rocket from the line. If he has some mean in him at the very least he should be a mauler in the run game.
DJ Coles having such a great squat is surprising, need to get him on some screens or return teams at the very least so he can run through some people.
Hosely, I will definitely enjoy your last year here. Even if you have to add a tenth of a second to that time I see him as a top 10 pick.
Tyler Barfield representing for Westfield HS with that squat. Think he had the same weight lifting coach as me for most of his HS where our coach made sure we focused in on squats.
Kind of surprised that Acree didn't register as on of the top in squats considering if he could squat 15 pounds more than his bench looks like he would be listed. My HS coach would say "what boy?!? do you walk on your hands"
i was surprised by Acree
Not making more lists. Younger guys often miss out on some Olympic lifts in high school and I am sure he will represent later. To be fair the front squat is a tougher lift than the back too.
Pretty stoked about Wang, he'll need a nickname.
not sure what happened with the double post there
Joe ever seen this before?
I think it's happened a couple of times before. It's one of those little things that makes the Internet the Internet and beautiful.
I think Acree set or tied the bench press record last year as a true freshman. There's not a question in my mind that by the time he leaves he'll be one of the strongest Hokies to pass through Blacksburg. Does anyone have any idea why they max front instead back squat?
Lil' Wang is the only thing I've got so far, we need to do better.
My gut tells me its a safety/injury thing with the crazy weights the beasts would put up otherwise on the back...I'd love to hear the official Gentry reason though.
Wasn't Wang called Godzilla or something by his teamates? There's the whole Chinese-Japanese confusion thing going there, but a derivative would be cool if we could get past that. But the play on words with Lil' Wang isn't bad....
Wang is turning into a beast
I hope he gets some NFL advie from big bro Ed.
Let's hope this work turns into some good on-field performances.
who the hell is mark carter? and why is he so fast?
