FSU Coach Jimbo Fisher Imposes Bar Ban

Since FSU has been in the news lately, we'd best stay current...

Probably a good idea on his part, but depending on the duration of said ban, I know I wouldn't be happy if I was a responsible football player of age looking to hang out with friends on a non-football weekend at a bar. Then again, the writer makes a good point. The problem isn't the bars, its the players.

You'd think it'd just be easier to ban assault and battery.

This seems very appropriate right now....

"When I was growing up, Virginia Tech was a school that was kicking ass and taking names, and it's time we get back to that" - James Franklin

Well, he didn't go that far.

He just banned bars.

This quote from the video pretty much sums up the confusion: "How do I get through to you boys that football isn't about rape?" he asks. "It's about violently dominating anyone who stands between you and what you want. You have to get into the mindset that you are gods, and you are entitled to this! That other team, they ain't just gonna lay down and it give it to you. You gotta go out there and take it!"

I think there's a condition in their commitment letters to allow assault and battery "in certain situations" when applying to FSU.

its impressive that they continue to miss THE POINT.. it's not the bars, publix or other people.. its the character of the kids they recruit. I'm sure a bunch of them feel entitled to better benefits and holy grail status so they think they can act up and FSU PD will push it under the rug.

It definitely doesn't help that most/some of these kids really started from the bottom and now are here.

A National Title definitely makes you feel some type of way and I'm sure they all love hitting the whip and or nae nae but now All Media Eyez on FSU so anything that happens will be reported.

Example- How many people knew dalvin cook had that dog incident in 2014? Not many I'm guessing, now he gets in bigger trouble and its being brought up.

Makes me thankful for Beamer and our University with how we deal with issues in our athletic department.

It's pretty clear that they've gotten used to people bending the rules for them.

Yup. While banning the kids from bars isn't necessarily a bad thing it doesn't solve the problem.

I think given the frequency of infractions this summer already, he's trying to put a band-aid on the situation by removing the enabler.

He's no good to me dead.

Now why would he do something hasty like that.

Wet stuff on the red stuff.

"In the interest of public safety, we have taken extraordinary measures to keep our players out of bars."
- Jimbo Fisher, probably

It was a catch

If Jimbo keeps up, he might have a list of quotes that will only be surpassed by the Ol Ball Coach himself.

I can only chuckle at "extraordinary measures." Um, yeah, ok.

So, not hitting women in bars...guess that means they have to stick to the frat parties to do that.

I don't know about you, but if I were an FSU fraternity, I wouldn't want the football team anywhere close. Fraternities are having enough issues with rape, etc. Then again, I'm near 30 and actually think these things through....

Isn't this kind of like blaming the gun for shooting people instead of the person holding the gun?

I can imagine no more rewarding a career. And any man who may be asked in this century what he did to make his life worthwhile, I think can respond with a good deal of pride and satisfaction:
“I served in the United States Navy"

One of my British FB friends introduced me to this group/song:

Who the hell is he to tell his players they can't practice law in the state of Florida?

The best part of that joke is the idea that any of his players know the difference those 2 types of bars

I would hope they do, considering how much first hand experience they all have with both

I saw 'fist hand' for some reason...weird
