I would not be disappointed by this season.

I would be very happy if that happened. Still think we owe them some payback from the recent losses.
Clemson running the table? Guess they forgot where the term "pulling a Clemson" comes from.
Would be really happy with 10-2 for VT.
Yeah, I really can't see Clemson running the table right now. They play GT and Miami from the Coastal. Also have FSU, Louisville, and a likely tricky NC State team, plus they play Notre Dame this year, and of course South Carolina. I see at least one loss somewhere in there.
I would be very happy with a 10-2 year for us too. Hope we can beat the Buckeyes again, but all is not lost if we lose a hard-fought game with them. A lot to play for this year.
I think Clemson will be really good this year. All of their tough games are at home. They play Miami on the road, but Miami has VT, Clemson, FSU back to back to back (I predict this is Al's last season there). USCe is on the road. Everything else is at home. I think at worst they're a 2 loss team and undefeated in the ACC.
My main concerns about Clemson are that they will probably have real issues on special teams and on the offensive line. The special teams were absolutely awful last year and they lost the two reasons they weren't the worst in the country (punter and kicker). The offensive line was awful at run blocking and rather thin and they lost their best lineman. They lost two players in the offseason in the exact spots that they couldn't afford.
It's enough for me to temper my expectations for them. I think they lose a couple of games somewhere along the line.
They also lost a ton of talent from what was the strength of their team last year (their D), and they lost their offensive coordinator. I really don't understand the Clemson hype this year. I guess everyone just figures FSU lost too much, so someone from the Atlantic must fill that vacuum
It's mostly due to the fact that Deshaun Watson is the arguably one of, if not the best QB and early frontrunner for Offensive POY.
When he confronts our defense...Oh boy, he's in trouble.
Historically, our defense has had difficulty with mobile quarterbacks. But then again, who hasn't?
The two of the three worst offensive performances under a Chad Morris offense came against Bud Foster. Coincidence? I think not.
Dadi only needs to get one clean shot at him
Yeah, but even a potential stud qb can struggle with holes on his defense, mediocre o-line, and a new offensive coordinator.
I agree, I wouldn't be surprised to see the Coastal to have the higher ranked team in the ACC-CG.....and maybe even two ranked teams higher than an Atlantic team at times.
At this point, VT and GT may have fewer question marks than FSU and GT. And Pitt, UNC and Miami all have upside only matched by NCSU in the Atlantic. I could see five Coastal teams being ranked at different times this year.
I would be happy with this season as well, but I also think it would leave a tiny bit of a sour taste in my mouth. Im so tired of playing second fiddle to FSU and Clemson in the ACC...
On the other hand, it does warm my heart to see UVA finishing right where they belong
We won't be second fiddle when we beat Clemson in the ACCCG.
FSU and Clemson recruit on a tier of their own in the ACC so unless we close the gap, or find a Bud Foster equivalent on offense, I wouldn't expect that to change.
This is very true.
LOLUVA dead last
So when do we start the dead pool on when they can the TimeCop?
You guys wanna start it now? I'm guessing they fire him by the start of November.
I don't want him to be fired...
I beg and I pray that he won't be fired.
We could always start a "
Don't FireHire Al Groh" campaign. Otherwise, let's keep the TimeCop, please. That's not the wahoos way. They'll wait till the day after they lose to us and have no more games left. I wonder what poem time cop will read in his presser
I hope he does a dramatic reading of Rocket Man, a la William Shatner
It's very possible, but the coastal is a crap shoot right now in terms of picking a winner. Everyone has a ton of question marks. One of many teams can win it and I think everyone will have at least 2 losses. As for the atlantic it's going to come down to Watson and golson.
I don't think its as much of a crapshoot as people currently think.
If we don't have the rash of injuries like last year, I have a very good feeling that there will be a noticeable gap between us and the rest of the Coastal by the end of the year. By 2016 we should be a fairly heavy favorite to take the division.
losing a ton of talent on defense this year so very doubtful about 2016. I could see UNC, GT, or Miami in addition to us winning the coastal. There is no clear cut favorite IMO.
And finally the universe will have come back into balance
Someone thinks highly of the ACC. Would love to see this scenario though.
hey hey hey! NSFW!! /s
I double dog dare you to google "banana gif" at work.
Dude this made my day because I just got back from the gym and was eating a banana when I was scrolling through TKP and saw this awesomeness. Leg for you!
Oh, you like bananas? Have some more!!!

I'll see myself out.
Would love to see this but honestly I would be happy(and think it is more realistic) to go 8-4 in the regular season after the last few years. Any improvement is something to look forward too!
Is this Al Golden's last year at Miami if that prediction is correct? 6-6, to be 6-7 after the bowl game again.
Not sure to be happier with our 10-2 or uva's 2-10.
I'd be happy with whichever of those actually happens, but happier with VT going 10-2.
I'd be happier with VT's 10-2 because that means we hit the over......
wait, I guess that same argument holds for a 2-10 uva.
I would be happier with VT going to the NCAA college playoffs but I'll settle for ACCCG.
The only way this season would satisfy me, short of beating OSU, is if we destroyed Clemson in the ACCCG. We owe them a whooping or 3.
edit: Yes, I'm fully prepared to be disappointed, before anyone "expect disappointment"'s me
I'd settle for any win over Clemson, even an ugly one.
Bonus if it's a clear-cut one.
Ugly would do it. But man, I'm a hungry fan this season
Let's hope you have just the right mixture of crumbs in your prodigious beard from the feast that will be our season.
That is the plan my man
If it be thusly so, I pledge to hire a nubile hairdresser to comb said crumbs from said chin cabbage for you. We can place them in a baggie in the trophy case next to the Natty Champy trophy.
Wait, I can only upvote this once.
So I wonder who they predicted our conference loss to. I'm thinking Georgia Tech.
My best guess would be either them, Pitt, or NCState (people keep saying they are gonna step up this year)
Their QB was pretty good last year
Almost has to be GT because they have GT going 6-2 in conf and 8-4 overall. Which means they probably have losses to Notre Dame and Georgia and definitely "undefeated" Clemson. That means the remaining loss is likely to either FSU, VT or one of the other Coastal teams. My bet is on FSU given VT's in-conf schedule and only having 1 loss - and the other coastal teams having at least 3 losses.
I frankly don't see GT going 8-4/6-2. I just don't see them going 5-2 vs Duke, UNC, Clemson, Pitt, FSU, VT, & Miami...in that order and bookended with Notre Dame and UGa (with only UVA and a bye week as breathers).
And let's be honest, the bye week is the tougher opponent between the two.
Yes he was. i still have a hrad time buying on Clemson. I think FSU and NC State will be the teams in the Atlantic. Luisville is still 2 years aay from being a threat imo.
