Well the first practice is over and for what its worth jc Coleman is #1 on the depth chart followed by edmunds, ill post the link shortly I'm on my phone

I am *really* excited about Pugh being here working with Miller. Miller will be responsible for all the new line calls, and having someone familiar with Grimes' system will only making the transition smoother.

I must be one of the few that isn't convinced JC is much of an upgrade over Holmes. If you take away his two longest runs of the year (both against Duke, the worst defense against the run per carry Tech faced all year) JC had basically the same YPC as Holmes did.
In that game (vs the 107 worst YPC defense in the country) JC got 13 carries, while Holmes only got 2.
Plus, Holmes is defininetly better in the red zone.
I wouldn't be surprised if in Loeffler/Grimes's new one-cut, I-formation running attack Holmes gets the starting job back. He's got good vision, he's tougher inbetween the tackles than Gregory or Coleman, and he's got more experience then Edmunds and Mangus.

The thing I dislike most about Holmes is that I haven't seen him be explosive even in the slightest. I agree that he may have good vision, but last year he seemed to just run behind the line looking for holes that weren't there. From what I've seen, he doesn't have the speed to get outside and he's not willing to try and truck through someone. If holes are created by this years line he could probably be slightly productive, but I'd still rather go with JCC and Edmunds.

Let's see him run behind a line that can block, and we'll see. Holmes suffers from a case of "looks slow" but he's moving faster then he appears. He's certainly fast enough to be an every down back.
We'll see how it plays out.

Sophomore J.C. Coleman was listed as the No. 1 tailback. Freshmen Trey Edmunds and Chris Mangus, senior Tony Gregory and sophomore Michael Holmes were listed as co.-No. 2s. With senior cornerback Antone Exum (Deep Run) out following knee surgery, Tech listed sophomore Donovan Riley as the starter in his place, backed up by sophomore Donaldven Manning.
Also who here is excited about Ryan Pugh? maybe he'll add a little extra grit to our offensive line

If those tendencies could be coached away, he could be RMFW part deux
You can't really coach someone to be willing to bash. It is an innate trait that you have or you don't.
