2016 DE / DT Nick Coe has Hokies in his Top 2

Asheboro HS DE / DT Nick Coe has a top 2 of Virginia Tech and Auburn.

According to an interview with Keith Niebuhr of 247Sports (http://247sports.com/Bolt/Its-official-Auburn-in-top-2-for-Coe-38397194), Auburn leads Tech at this point.

"They're [Auburn] No. 1," Coe said. "They're great. And they're planning on winning a national championship. They're not too far from it. I talked to some of the coaches about degrees. They'll make sure I get a degree. Make sure I graduate. If I go pro, they'll want me to come back and graduate still."

Coe said Friday a decision could come "after football season."

But AuburnUndercover has learned he could be reasonably close to picking a school.

We would be one step closer to a national championship if Nick would sign here. Been a long while since we have had a 6'6" 260lb DE.

Plan for the worst and hope for the best, not the other way around.

Would be a phenomenal grab, but that's some stiff competition. Bud Foster or Muschamp, bias aside, both are proven good picks.

Given their recent success, Auburn is gonna be tough to beat.
I see Auburn is crystal balled to potentially land a few 4 or 5 star D lineman from down south. We might have to root for them to 'fill up' at that position.
Also, I've never seen his film but if he's already 260 now (247 profile), he's most likely a DT for us.

Yup Auburn looks to be in a pretty good spot for a couple other elite DE's. Gotta hope they pull they trigger before Coe. Interesting that UNC fell out of the picture though

Kinda surprised we even made the top 2. Hadn't heard much on him in a while and I believe the thinking was that UNC was out in front.

Auburn is apparently taking a ton of DL guys this year. I assume he's a take for them.

So, he wants to deal with THIS as his DC? I understand wanting a coach with intensity to win, but Muschamp can be over the top.

Considering that we weren't even on his radar, and 247 didn't have us listed in any predictions, I'd say we made a very strong impression late in the process and I hope he comes here again and commits to VT!

Just a theory, but I'm pretty sure FSU's strategy is not to recruit until a player has almost made up their mind and then right at the last second they make a phone call and say "Oh btw, we see you are pretty popular and we have room for a star like you here, so have a scholarship and give us a call"
