Saw a post on the VT off campus housing directory from a Melvin K. with picture saying that he is looking to sublease his room because he plans to transfer. Looking at his twitter, some recent posts seem to be related to a decision to transfer. Anyone heard anything official?

It would explain the extra LB interest Tech has taken recently which seems to be greater than normal.

At this point, his only real on-field experience is special teams. 127 ST plays last year, only 5 on defense.

Next Corey Moore??? lets pump the brakes on that one. Thats some really high praise for someone who hasn't seen much, if any, of the field.
Talent-wise yes, but Beamer himself said that Khein has Moore-like speed off the edge
ok lets say he has his speed but just because he has one aspect of his game doesn't make him just like Moore. Im not going to compare his all around game to Moore just yet.

Any idea this was in reaction to CJ Revis or some completely different issue. If and only if CJ's case was a ridiculous one to be removed from the team that could have impact on how well players jell with each other and the program
This could very well be true. CJ and Melvin are very good friends, although you'd hate to see a player like Melvin transfer just because of this one instance.
The team had nothing to do with CJs enrollment at tech, the honor system is responsible for the decision of him not being able to enroll at the school and therefore not be able to play football.
I looked at the tweets, as part of my search for info on CJ, and other than him following Randy and UMD Recruiting analyst, there isn't any true hint of displeasure at the school. He could also be following them, as he has friends who may be thinking of going to UMD, or just keeping in touch with other recruits. During that time, he also followed a VT Basketball girl. All his tweets though are very pro VT. Something drastic would have had to happen for him to go the opposite way.

Listen, if the guy needs to leave Virginia Tech for UMD or another institution, so be it. The guy is a class act and Hokie Nation should be behind him even if he's not wearing O&M. His family is significantly more important than football.
How would going to school at UMD change this situation?
Seems to me you optimize your usefulness in this situation by getting your degree, and possibly an NFL contract.
Then again, we don't know very much at all about the particulars.

Was he ever really given a chance at LB? That seems like the only position that might give him a chance at the NFL at his size. Perhaps another school can offer that.

I now have to wonder if this is only the tip of the iceberg of the fallout from yesterday's decision. If it were as ridiculous as some are claiming, I can imagine quite a few on the team are going to be incredibly displeased with what happened, and we might here a few more put in transfer requests.
idk about other people transferring due to the reavis issues. yeah some might voice their displeasure.. Shai tweeted for the first time in awhile last night about the issue. Just think MK's decision to leave was based on family or positional move
I think he definitely has potential here down the road, but it would be a blow to our special teams this year. Reavis was also a good special teams player. Keihn, who may not make a big impact at DE this season, brings a lot of athleticism to special teams. Very valuable to making a good team
Really liked keihn as a prospect coming out of HS. Wish he had stayed at backer, but his film definitely looked like DE would have been his most comfortable position. Don't know all the details about his situation yet, but i'm sure more will come out soon.
Tons of chatter around some other boards that Keihn's transfer is directly related to Reavis's dismissal. Some insiders at one of the pay sites even hinting that he may have provided info to the school in their decision to dismiss CJ. Apparently a lot of the D Block is not too happy with Melvin.
Have no idea if any of this is true and I would hate to be spreading false rumors but I feel like it was worth nothing.

While a rumor, you may be on to something there. I do know he isn't exactly liked by everyone on the team and that has a lot to do with him leaving.
