Only an idiot would discount the other Tech and their chop blocking ways, those have been close contests for years and we are at GiT and it is late in the season so we have no idea how either team will be constituted (injuries, suspensions, etc). Right now we need to focus on *, nothing more and nothing less. The only guaranteed win on our schedule is LOLUVA, because Timecop...

"Initially, I thought Monarchs might replace the Pirates as the Conference USA-level team that Virginia Tech faces every year, but in every one of those years that the Hokies play the Monarchs, they also play the Pirates. So it's clearly not a replacement situation. Those games were mostly scheduled before Babcock arrived, so we'll see if he has a different scheduling philosophy going forward."

Those two teams should be competing for the SAME slot in the schedule, not TWO DIFFERENT slots so that we're playing them both in the same years. I hope in future scheduling arrangements, this pattern gets changed. I realize it's too late for the existing agreements. The thought of playing both of these teams every year is almost as disappointing as being matched with Boston College as a cross-divisional rival.
That said, the AD's at Virginia Tech have arranged some great matchups, like this year's season opener, so you take the good with the bad.

I bet you could do a best-case/worst-case scenario with anybody other than Virginia in the Coastal and come to the conclusion that the team could either go to Charlotte for the ACC title game or miss out on a bowl. You could certainly do it for Virginia Tech. It's still a wide open division this year.

Only reason I don't mind odu is the wifey went there so I will be able to win some concessions when we whoop them every year...
concessions? what do you guys bet on those games? You know what, forget I asked
Dude when you have been stuck with the same woman for 10+ years you have to do something to make it interesting...
Georgia Tech beat VT, Georgia, and Clemson last year. So three of those supposed losses.
I completely forgot about the Clemson game. I'll update that part.
Ok but when will Beamer realize Brewer isn't the guy and put in Lawson? Will Lawson win the Heisman this year?
