He will get a shot, but I'm not sure how well his game translates to the NBA. The way he plays doesn't exactly translate to a concrete position in the NBA, so there is the risk that he could go bust. I see him as being a great 6th or 7th man, like a more efficient JR Smith for you NBA fans.
Draft prediction: Portland, the Knicks, or Atlanta.

Erick Green will play the point in the NBA. At 6'3" 185 lbs he is not undersized at all.
I like to compare his game to Rajon Rondo - - Green is slower, but has a significantly better jump shot and mid range game. I think Erick is shifty enough and will be very good at getting to the basket and has great vision to kick the ball out when help collapses. Erick is not as good of a defensive player as Rondo, but he's not bad either.
Yes, he will be in the NBA, and I'm excited to see him there.

Last I saw, he was projected to get drafted right around the end of the first/beginning of the second round. I don't see him getting drafted and flaming out, but I wouldn't expect too many minutes right away; teams don't draft immediate starters down there. I think he could grow into a major role, because of his skill set and position. I'm interested to see what he looks like after spending time with NBA trainers, because I imagine he'll need to put on some weight. He may not have the crazy athleticism of JR Smith, but he's pretty fast. Is he big enough to earn any minutes at shooting guard? Probably depends on the team, but he showed he could score this season. I think a great career for him would be akin to Steve Blake's (drafted 38th overall, is in his 9th season and gets a lot of minutes while Steve Nash is dying of old age on the Laker's bench). Although, and I'm very biased, I think Green has a higher ceiling because of his ability to drive and score in addition to a solid 3-pt shot.
This was kind of all over the place, but that's what I've been thinking (optimistically) of his chances. I think the team most drafts have him going to is the Thunder. So, not exactly a chance for a starting job, but maybe he could get a ring like Tyrod.

Erick Green doesn't have the ball handling skill to compete with elite NBA point guard, but he could be one of those combo-guard, similar to what he has been doing at Tech, and play more like a small forward. One of his knock, according to Mark "Runny Nose" Berman of the Roanoke Times, is his strength is not at a desirable level, and that's why Green is hitting the weight. I have to agree with a poster who said that Green could be one of those contributing players off the bench, similar to Tyler Hansbrough at Indiana.

But to the point, yeah Green is hitting the weights like crazy. He is still practicing or in the weight room everyday just like it is still the season.
As a 76er fan (grumble..grumble) I'd love to see him in Philly backing up Holiday and Turner.

He'd be a great fit coming off the bench for a lot of teams, but the ones that would probably use him most effectively would be Golden State, Houston or Denver. He's good enough to handle the ball, would be able to spell a starter and provide reliable scoring off the bench and is a solid 3-point shooter. Also, none of those teams would reign him in too much and his strength is creating for himself and others (he reminds me a lot of James Harden in those respects).

How guys I've been lurking for a while, but I figured I would post because I think I can actually contribute to this discussion. I don't care too much for the NBA, but based on what I've seen from Erick, I'm confident that he can make a team and contribute. The main reason is that he is a scorer and the NBA is a scorer's league. He can shoot very well and he is good at finishing in the lane once he gets by his man. Being able to score from floaters is definitely an art and he is certainly adept at it. Also, from what I've heard from people on the team, he is a good defender. I know he doesn't seem dominant in games, but when he has to carry the load on offense and play 38 minutes a game, I can't fault him for not busting his ass on D.
In regards to the strength argument, yeah he should definitely put on some weight. But outside of Lebron and certain big guys, are there really any NBA players who you look at and think "Damn that dudes jacked!" Probably not. Erick left VT today to start training in DC, so I'm sure he'll be hitting the weights hard over the next few months.

he'll get drafted, he'll get a shot. once he adjusts to the speed of the game he will be a solid contributor and he could become a starter in the right situation.

+1 for the Berman knock. Can't stand the guy.
