Bad news for the Hokies:
I Want To Thank God For Everything, I'M OFFICIALLY COMMITTING TO THE UNIVERSITY OF MINNESOTA!!!#Gophers #SkiUMah pic.twitter.com/0XDV9GjjHC— Dredrick Snelson Jr. (@D_Snelson2) August 1, 2015
Snelson visited Tech last weekend and recapped his visit here, but the Gophers won out in the end.
By missing on both Snelson and Tino Ellis, Grant Holloway will likely become an even bigger priority for the team going forward.

I know he didn't pick the good guys but that's a pretty badass image they came up with.
Good luck to him. From Florida to Minnesota, talk about a change in weather. I'm fairly confident we land Holloway, but the real question is whether he chooses to be a track only guy in college or do both football and track.
Outdoor stadium in winter in Minnesota!! No thanks.
We won't be playing in conditions like that most likely but that picture isn't far off from a Blacksburg winter. (Can't see the temp but we have some nasty wind)
That's from the first week of November, does Blacksburg get a 6 plus inch snow that early? He also will still have to be a student during the height of winter. My in laws lived in Minneapolis until last year, it's a lot of snow and it snows a lots of days.
Wow. Maybe he should visit in January and see if he still loves the place as much. Minn is awesome in July.
Is it really that much worse than Blacksburg in January?
Perception....Duh. Don't you know it rains all the time in Seattle
Annual Precipitation
Seattle
Average annual precipitation - rainfall: 34.1 inch
Av. annual snowfall: -
Blacksburg
Average annual precipitation - rainfall: 40.86 inch
Av. annual snowfall: 27 inch
It doesn't rain every day in Seattle, but it is rainy and overcast a lot. And a decent amount more than Blacksburg.
Seattle - 158 precipitation days per year
Blacksburg - 128 precipitation days per year
Seattle - 152 sunny days per year
Blacksburg - 215 sunny days per year
Blacksburg is 20% less likely to get any precipitation on a given day and 30% more likely to have a sunny day.
I see a new job in your future.
I'll see you and raise you one...

Alright, let's tone down the genitalia, shall we?
Are...are you my wife?
Eh, sorry...it was from a google moderate safe search...
dispose of it as you wish.
Edit: OOOOkay...just went through about half of the Billdozer thread. Yeah, I'd say we are all petered out for the day.
Just link instead of embedding and we're all good.
Sweet! There are tons of 'em out there!
j/k
Ahhh...time to head in early again and view from a safe distance...

Goodnight, TKP!
My apologies, was not my intention, until it popped in my search for "meteorologist".
I think yours is subtle enough that we don't have a problem. I've just seen enough d!ck pics embedded on the forums today haha.
Here are a few more.....
Haha! It was an interesting change instead of pussy TD's
Blacksburg is also one of the only places on earth (that I know of) where you can have all 4 seasons in 1 day
It's the weather control device being developed in secret at the "Smart Road".
Lots and lots of snow.
According to a family I know that moved from Chicago to Minnesota to Blacksburg... Yes, yes it is. Average high of 24 degrees and an average annual snowfall of 54 inches over 38 days versus an average high of 41 and an average annual snowfall of 25 inches over 14 days. Minnesota's winter is much longer, colder, and with more snow.
That being said, if he wants to be at Minnesota then good for him. The dominoes are starting to fall now. Only really waiting on 8 or so guys for 3 or 4 slots.
It absolutely is. For those who felt the coldest place on earth was walking across the drill field to go to an 8:00 a.m. class in January (and I felt that way many times), Blacksburg doesn't even come close to MN. I unfortunately spent the two coldest, most miserable winters of my life in St. Paul, and this was after living in the Chicago area for 5 years. L-o-n-g stretches of winter where the temperature doesn't get above freezing, and even above zero. Most of the major buildings in St. Paul and Minneapolis are connected by 'skyways' a couple of floors above street level so that people can get around downtown without having to go outside. And, both cities advertised that fact. To me, there's something fundamentally wrong if a city advertises "and you don't even have to go outside".
Minnesota? Alrighty then.

This is awesome and I don't even know why.
4 solid WR recruits, if we land Holloway that is the last we'd land, but I can definitely understand recruits at that position looking elsewhere. I hope we do land Holloway though and the DE that plays at Grassfield with him. Landon Dickerson would also be a HUGE get for us. Aside from those guys and Haskins. I really like how we have been recruiting and getting depth at every position.
I like that were requesting now. Sounds nice.
Dadi L. Nicolas was once committed to Minnesota until he saw the light. It is not too late for Snelson to join the good guys assuming he makes the grades.
Wedley Estime*
As was James Farrow, who had a cup of coffee at VT.
How is his rap career going?
I'm waiting for his collaboration with Montavious Pitts
You know what they say...if you can't stand the heat, get in the freezer.
Minnesota?!
Jerry Kill will flat get after ya
I cant STAND the Vikings...
Ice fishing?
It's a place holder guys don't blame the kid a bit. If he ends up getting a committable offer from us he'll probably flip.
FWIW, it looks like there's an issue with his transcript that's keeping his offer list in check right now (including for us). He doesn't currently hold an offer from VT. If it looks like things check out, good chance he flips. Looks like he's locking down his spot to make sure he'll have a college scholarship.
That makes more sense.
Interesting.
247 has him listed with an offer from VT, though.
Just like the CB predictions and announcement times then 247 must be right, just sayin...
As much as we'd like to pretend it doesn't happen, this is one of those "commitable offer" situations. However, for us, we don't tell 300 kids they have an offer and then pick our favorites of those who "commit." His offer right now is conditional on him getting his transcript in order - and I'm not sure if it's just getting his grades up or there was an issue when he transferred.
To me that makes it a conditional offer, conditions like grades etc. Not a "if we have space" offer.
Which I think is entirely fair. It's not an "Alabama oversigned so you're out in the cold because you can't *actually* commit to us" situation, rather a "you need to qualify for school before we pull the trigger, but we're interested so use that as motivation" situation.
Exactly. As HF mentioned above, "conditional offer" is probably the right word.
Didn't I read that he's taking his visit to Minnesota in October or November? That should be interesting for a South Florida kid...he might as well be going to Antartica.
I prefer to call these the "We actually committed a guy who we like better than you so now you're out."
I believe we have our foursome for the 2016:
WR Divine Deablo, 6-3, 206, Winston-Salem, N.C. (Mount Tabor)
WR Samuel Denmark, 6-0, 175, Charleston, S.C. (Hanahan)
WR Eric Kumah, 6-3, 205, Woodbridge (Forest Park)
WR Phil Patterson, 6-2, 180, Virginia Beach (Bayside)
4 is a good number, every time we got 4 guys in at receiver, we've had a few turn out. Going back to 2004, we had Royal, Harper, Morgan (Hyman from previous class) and we had solid contributors. Had a kid named Gilchrisht in 2k4 as well (dont think made much of a contribution)
Had a slew of receivers in 2008, 2 of which were Jarrett Boykin and Danny Coales, DJ Coles contributed as well
4 receivers last year, 2 broke out.
i think we are in a good spot
That being the 2014 class.
We've still got Holloway and Ian Boyd (Maybe? Haven't seen anything on him in a while)., plus interest from Trevion Armstrong although we haven't offered yet. I'd be fine with the 4 we have, but bringing in a big WR class would not be a bad idea this year with the current lack of depth.
Interesting situation with this kid. No doubt he is an elite talent. Off the field is a whole different ballgame. Big time change of scenery might be just what he needs.
