Always interesting to see what folks say around the league. Nothing too earth shattering about anything, really, but a good change of pace from the standard coach speak

Oh Mike London...
About Wake Forest: "Their skill against ours, I'd take ours and I'm not sure we're that good. I think they recruited pretty well last year and a lot of those guys are probably going to play." - See more at: http://athlonsports.com/college-football/acc-coaches-talk-anonymously-ab...
It would make a good game to match the coaches with the quotes.
I mean -- they got 3 five stars to go along with their 20 two stars. Not that I care about stars that much, but can you say they recruited well if the average is still relatively low? Seems like the 5-stars are the outliers and not the norm.
...yeah but..they're still punching above their weight class in terms of recruiting..I mean..it's LOLUVA for cryin' out loud. They shouldn't be landing any players, let alone a bunch of 2* guys
I think what he meant to say was "They've recruited extremely well...for who they are"
The funny thing is, their recruiting sucks. I mean sure, they got a couple 5* guys over the last couple years, but outside of those select few, their recruiting has been downright awful, leading to a situation where they have good players, but their depth is so miserable that they really don't have much hope to compete.
Come on guys. We aren't the ONLY ones that wants to keep Time Cop around. Everyone is listening/reading in ACC land, and as long as someone from loluva reads that, London has a gold star on the board.
Da U would love to see him gone, but UNC and Duke are in the same boat as us.
are these Head Coaches only or HC's and Coordinators? Some seem fairly detailed, makes me think the coordinators are involved in providing comments.
Apparently L'uvulle's defense is vaunted compared to ours. k
Most of that stuff was talking about last year and I'm guessing those quotes came from Atlantic coaches. Although, I'm not sure you could call them the best defense in the ACC last year when Clemson was far and away the best defense in the country.
Very true. I'm assuming the comments came out of a hat of whichever coaches would answer anonymously.
Kind of hard to be the best defense someone plays if we don't play them.
On Brewer: "It's one of those deals — you just hope to play him when he's not playing well."
This is right on, and head shaking as a VT fan. Hopefully he can be solid in the turnover department.
To me, Brewer's inconsistency was a function of his experience with the scheme and knowledge of the playbook riddled by minor injuries. The fact that he had good games shows he has the skill and is capable. I hope and pray that his award for best offensive spring player foreshadows the good game consistency that he showed flashes of last year. By my logic, he can't get any worse barring further injury.
I am not questioning his skill level or heart. But there are times when the prudent play is the risky throw that you don't make. There is a lot about Brewer's game that I like, there is just a little bit of trying-to-squeeze-it-into-a-tight-window-whilst-throwing-off-his-backfoot that I'd like to see corrected.
I wonder when these comments were said because the FSU ones seem completely oblivious to the Everett Golson transfer.
