Didn't they say a while ago that they wouldn't announce it until the first play of the game or something? It's not really surprising though. They're trying to keep any edge they have which is fair.
My money is still on 3 QB's their first offensive play. Just to make the media go crazy.
I don't think Urban will get cute with it. The most you'll see is 2 if they run Braxton out there as well. Urban seems to play pretty straightforward and I doubt he'd do something like that.
So they play Burrows uh?
It's the second time I've seen you say that, not quite sure what you're getting at.
If you're alluding to the fact that Braxton isn't a qb still, you'd be incorrect. He still warms up with them and considers himself a qb. Just doesn't trust his shoulder for 30 throws a game.
I bet Braxton will see some action behind center this year.
Or at least some sort of trick play. He's such a weapon and I know I'd be terrified of him running all over me I wouldn't think of the pass. He just has so many weapons it's scary.
Miller has not thrown a pass in a live situation since when? Not to mention I've heard anOSU fans say Miller will play: WR, HB, PR and now QB. Learning and being good at those positions takes a lot of time, something Miller just doesn't have.
He' a quarterback who will see most of his time at Hback this season due to a shoulder injury. He will probably throw some balls every now and then.
He will also be the punt returner.
Based on the video of him fielding punts doesn't have me worried about in the PR position. Miller is done as a QB, I think the coaches know this just waiting for the fans and Miller himself to realize it.
A few highlights his first week at practice shouldn't scare anybody to be honest.
To your second point-yea, hopefully that's the case. But Urban did say Braxton will be the third string qb if it comes to that.
How many weeks has he had to become a PR? He doesn't have any history there or at WR. I just don't see it. Maybe he will prove me wrong but I don't think so.
Fair enough. I don't think there is too much knowledge needed to return punts. Just a lot of reps of catching the ball.
To be honest, I will be holding my breath the first time he is set to catch one under the lights one week from today.
Doesn't really matter for us. The game plan defensively will be the same either way I am guessing.
Doesn't matter.
As soon as they see who is across the LOS I am sure this will be what they want to do.
Does it matter who their QB is in how we prepare for the game? Both will run with the ball. Barrett is faster but Jones is more of a bruiser with a bigger arm. But does it drastically change what they'll do on O, which will likely be feed Elliott and try to exploit man coverage they expect to see from us?
I figure they will use three QBs, the first two we will terrify to death.
Kickoff can't get here soon enough
I look for Miller in the backfield on play, QB (who ever it is) steps away to act like he's getting a call or changing the play, and a quick snap to Miller on a normal read option at some point. I think Foster will also modify coverages based on who is playing based on arm strength versus running threat.
