So I will admit I got bored today and spent my time piecing together some media of the last time we met with anOSU. This is the first time I've ever made a video so it's nowhere near perfect but it might just hold you over till Monday.

For all the talk about how much smaller the VT Dline is and it's more about speed and scheme I saw plenty of straight up pushing back of the Oline in that video for pressure and sacks. My head says be ready for a loss just keep it close, my heart says HOLY SHIT WE CAN DO THIS!!!!

I was amazed looking at how much Dinardo was in the backfield in those highlights. If RVD can put it together like that he could have a hell of a year. Jarrett was practically field punts on those INTs.
That hurdle by Newsome on the jet sweep at 2:48. Whew...that was a beauty. Simple, but getting over that blocker made the run. And we sure did hit Barrett a lot, didn't we?
It's surprising how often we got to him. Maybe it was the beverages but I don't remember hitting him that many times. The thing that stood out to me is how several sacks were 2 - 3 Hokies swarming him. They handled the OL that game and I want to see if OSU's OL has grown that much.
Am I the only one who watched this thing and kept thinking, "man, we have GOT to put up points on Monday?" I just have trouble believing our defense can be that dominant again, at least without the offense keeping the pressure on by building a lead.
I think our defense played a great game last year but we also got lucky more often than not. We definitely need to score a lot of points if we want to win this game. OSU is going to score plenty this time around. I think OSU will score at least 28 points. We will need our offense to score, at the very minimum, a touchdown per quarter if we're going to put up any fight.
Wow. What a great set of plays. Talk about everything working. I sure hope we get another game like that one.

Everyone's been giving props to Foster and having the D-block ready to shut down anOSU last year, but Lefty called a heck of a game as well. I thought it might be a long night when our first play went for -5 yds, but Brewer and the offense adjusted and put together our best offensive performance of the last few years.
Can't wait for version #2 about a week after the sweep!

NM, great work on your first vid; I think it's awesome! The voiceover part at the beginning is really cool, particularly how you matched it up with some of the clips "no matter what the experts may say" (Herbstreit clip). The music is almost certainly Explosions in the Sky and the guys voice kind of sounds like John Goodman.
Anyway, that was awesome and somehow I'm supposed to go back and do work now.
By the way, I found the original video; it's pretty cool in it's own right.

From someone who hasn't been a student on campus in quite some time, how is the buzz around this game? Are students genuinely excited for football? It seems the last few years, student fans have fallen victim to the digital age. The anticipation and tenacity just doesn't seem to be there for the students anymore. That said, winning would probably fix that.
The feeling is definitely different for this game. You're absolutely right about the declining interest. I've noticed that for the past three years the interest has faded from year to year. It spiked when we beat anOSU last year, but dwindled again quickly. I've been amazed this week because I'll talk about VT football with anyone who will listen to me and I've been impressed with the knowledge about the game from people that normally wouldn't care. If we pull off this win, it'll have a huge ripple effect with the students.
Appreciate the inside scoop. My only source is a sister in law (junior at tech) who only knows the football players she meets at parties and doesn't know what a 1st down is. Her and all her friends care more about their Instagram photos than Hokie football I'm sure. I worry for future generation.
