I saw we recieved some Crystal Ball predictions for Ty Outlaw, and we are at 43%, tied with USF.

Put in Donlon

It was mentioned on TSL not to expect much news, since if there are more than one player who wants to join, we "need to make a roster move."

That makes sense.

I saw we received a crystal ball pick for us to flip Mark Birmingham (4 star Duke Commit TE from Ashburn) today. From a Minnesota insider which seems weird, but hopefully there's something there.

VT '15

That wouldn't suck.

Interesting. Two people have CB'ed VT in the last two weeks (nobody else has done a CB prediction on him since last April).

He's still tweeting up a storm about Duke, though, so not getting my hopes up.

@historyhokie.bsky.social

Right, so that was for football, not basketball... and he's a TE, which means he'll definitely end up here.

Tight End. Wrong sport.

And will definitely end up at QB.

Or Tackle....

Felder got a Nebraska offer. We sure know how to evaluate talent for others

Ok, I thought we had until May 18th to sign players? Edit: I misread the info on that.

No to Birmingham
Yes to a hoops player. Tomorrow.

I like what your saying here!

Per TSL, sounds like you are correct! Thanks for the scoop.

Ok,what is this about?

Thon Maker committing to the Hokies tonight

Every second counts

is this a joke?

Why say that

If you're joking...not funny.

"Exit light..."

Ok, it is behind the paywall but according to CC tweet it relates to a Johnny Hamilton rumor. I know nothing other than that.

Up vote for you, I thought it was funny, anybody who really thought this was real are too gullible

Not official yet, but apparently Johnny Hamilton's paperwork has been submitted. So if all goes well we just picked up a leading shot blocker in JUCO.

ETA on an announcement?

He signed paperwork for VT, there was a picture mentioning his Twitter handle of him in a VT shirt signing his papers

you win some , you lose some....

Never bad to have a 7' kid blocking shots. Now we need to teach him how to shoot.

Thank you, Little City Hokie. I look forward to more posts from you.

Quillen got a Georgia offer as well.

In Sam Rogers we trust.

Very interesting read. Helps me see the process from the kids' POV.

It is interesting, but at the same time, he knows what they'll say b/c they already said it. "Don't commit and then look around". SMU told him explicitly what they were asking and why, and then he does the opposite anyway? I guess I get why he bumped up his commit date, but at the same time, doesn't seem like the best move.

So no re recruiting updates following the spring game? No commitments?

A lot of the 2016 guys that made it were already VT commits or leans. Made headway with Dwayne Haskins (still probably headed elsewhere though), CJ Freeman (USCe commit), and Jauan Williams (probably headed to Bama)

We improved our position with Wayne Davis and Ellison Jordan as well, we're in the thick of things for both players- may even lead.

Still lead for Grant Holloway, Eric Kumah, and Jalen Elliot from what I understand, just no one pulled the trigger.

Weather put a little bit of a damper on things. Apparently Jaquan Yulee and Tino Ellis didn't make it when at least Yulee had planned on coming.

In my opinion....no chance with Dwayne Haskins.
Making good headway with Jovani Haskins though. TE from NJ. A position of need I think since Bucky is going to pull a Mark Leal and leave school early for a job. Going to be tough to get him away from Rutgers though.
CJ Freeman is an interesting one. He wants to come to VT but the staff is kind of on the fence with him. A bit of a slow play some would say. Not sure they need him but seems to be a talent.
Agree on Kumah, Holloway and Elliot.
Ellis to WVU was an odd one but I think Cam gets him to come here.

Jovani and Dwayne are cousins, I tend to think we get both or neither.

I think since Bucky is going to pull a Mark Leal and leave school early for a job.

all I can say is ^

Yulee rescheduled his visit to during the summer.

I hope we can get Holloway. a 7 foot high jump and sub 4.4 40yd sounds like a good WR in the making!

Great to hear, so far away. I hope he continues to feel that way.

Seems to me that we're better poised for a really good recruiting class in 2017 than 2016.

Not much exciting about 2016 yet. Should load up on WR's and DB's. Not much action on DE's yet, but we need a handful. Still hopeful to land a high ranking OL. Maybe a QB.

But nothing like the excitement of 2015, thus far.

Who else went to Mallard Creek? Was it Whitley or Boykin?

I think Asante, who is currently on the team, not sure about the other two.

Marquise Williams was the guy we were after when we offered Asante

Couldn't find the perfect thread to go off of but this one seemed to work. Will there be a thread coming about recruits visiting the OSU game? I have seen a little bit on twitter about recruits confirming but I expect there will be a good amount.

I was looking to put together a list and I came across something very odd. Right now 247 has visits listed for Keyshawn Johnson (yes the son of that Keyshawn Johnson) and Darney Holmes. Both of them are elite prospects (Holmes is top 10 in the country) for '17 from California. Both of them seem to be high on OSU. Regardless of who they're actually here to see its always good to host elite players, its just strange having a big time visit from CA.

Agreed; I don't care who they are there to see, they could just as easily fall in love with our atmosphere.
