Tom Brady wins Deflategate appeal against NFL, judge rules
Not much to add on top of that. But it will be interesting to see how the NFL proceeds with a Commissioner who has essentially been stripped of power. I would almost guarantee we're going to see another Lockout in the not too distant future.

That's some bull
I wish I would have drafted him last night in the Danny Coale draft...
Sorry about that.

I took him in a 2 QB draft over the weekend, Round 8-9 something like that and got ridiculed for it.
Looking good now as my QB2
Good, clearly no evidence to support a meaningful punishment.
This wasn't about the evidence. It was about whether the NFL had the authority and executed it properly.

"Berman attacked the league while questioning one of its lawyers at two hearings, citing a lack of proof against Brady"
Its about both, if you look at it objectively without preconceived notions about Brady and the Pats its no case at best. Now if you hate the guy sure, rabble rabble away.
True. But the total lack of solid evidence made it much easier for the judge to rule against the NFL's execution of the entire process -- from the investigation to determination of the penalty to the decision to uphold the penalty.
It was expected that the NFL would be shot down even if they did pick this judge. The report was full of errors, they had no conclusive proof of wrongdoing, and every precedent said the punishment didn't fit the crime even if they could have proved something.
That said, he probably knew something was up.
Patriots with the eligible receiver stunts against the Ravens... the league saying the stunts were legal... then the league changing the rules in the offseason
deflating footballs? how hard is it to have an extra official take care of NFL provided balls? easy solution
Brady and Belicheck can pound sand.... lawyers finding loopholes so the Patriots can win sporting games
pathetic... pathetic that Goodell didn't have the sack or intellect to respond more forcefully
league will need to have a Patriots session after every season where it closes loopholes the New England Lawyers have exploited
While it irritates me that he's getting off with nothing, I certainly appreciate Brady's willingness to blow some coin to give Roger Goodell the finger.
Damn! I knew I shouldn't have passed on him in my fantasy league. Thanks Roger Goddell!
Yup, and my fantasy draft was last night.
Well, then.
NATIONAL FELONY LEAGUE back on the horizon!!!

Good the whole situation was absolutely ridiculous.
What was ridiculous was Tom Brady smashing his cell phone.
Who knew that was going to be his main punishment?
Except this was more of a slanderous headline the NFL pushed to win in the world court of social media.
The guy destroyed his phone after switching to a new phone, i think that is probably pretty common amongst people with fame, who dont want their cell phone history in anybody else's hands. The NFL even admitted Brady agreed to provide all pertinent cell history, but still pushed this headline.
I know. No actual evidence. The whole broken pressure gauge thing. Bad math. A clearly biased report that also gave nothing remotely conclusive and trying to force a narrative. The whole thing was dumb.
Not to mention anytime a "scandal" has the "-gate" suffix I immediately just file it in the nonsense category.
If the glove doesn't fit, you must acquit.
Welp, I bet this is how Jimmy Garoppolo is feeling this morning.
this is awesome
Only reason I'm happy about this is because I stashed him in the 14th round of fantasy draft last week.
Sorry to be that guy but the pats didn't win one after spygate so if anything two rings could say vinatieri. Just sayin.
Still a funny picture though
They were cheating and videotaping when they beat the Eagles in the Super Bowl as well, they just didn't get caught in Spygate until afterwards
Never count out Touchdown Tom
I'm just glad that Tom Brady finally had something go his way...
the poor fella
Hahahahaha.
Well he should take this victory while he can until he his divorce comes through.
Momma always said, winners never cheat and cheaters never win. Momma, God rest your dear departed soul, but you were wrong.
It'd be pretty comical if the pats missed the post-season entirely after all this
Please let this happen
The NFL's actions and position on this were a complete joke based on very weak circumstantial evidence that required huge leaps in faith to connect the dots and then the punishment based on this was basically putting their finger to the air. The judge clearly saw this.
Nevertheless, I expected the judge to uphold the labor agreement terms allowing Goodell to essentially act as judge and jury, but admonishing Goodell and the NFL for their arbitrary review process, decision process and application (or lack thereof) of existing rules for defining punishment.
I suspect Kraft has been quietly lining up his ducks to force Goodell out. This ruling only provides additional ammunition in that effort.
Well, at least it's over.
Oh wait, what's that? It's not over?
.... Fantastic.
If ours is a just God, Tommy will get Theismann'd near the end of week 4. A game he wouldn't have played in if his cheating ass had just taken his suspension.
Dude, as a fellow, for a little while, HT, I beg you to reconsider your prayer. I was watching that leg break when it happened, and wouldn't wish that on anyone. Many, many other season, but not life altering, injuries to choose from, though.
You got a dl from me. Nobody ever again should be hit like that man was.
Welp. Looks like another fall of me being Hatin' Ass Beard where Brady is concerned. His day is coming.
And all the while the owners are laughing while sipping their brandy saying "the press could have been talking about the concussion lawsuits. I sure am glad Roger got behind this deflategate stuff instead."
