That was stupid for a couple reasons:
One, he mentioned college football, but he kept talking about Friday and Friday night. That's high school football, college is played on Saturday with a few exceptions. If you're going to sing a song about college football fans, you need to mention Saturday.
Two, he mentioned colleges then mentioned a bunch of jobs that people who went to those colleges probably don't work. Sure working class people love college football too, but the idea that "we work in coal mines and fill your ice tea" is wrong. I work in a white collar office. On Fridays, everyone is wearing their college gear. OU, Texas, A&M, OK State, KSU, Texas Tech, Kansas, LSU, BAMA, etc. College football fandom is probably more prevalent in workplaces with lots of football school alums.
Lastly, it's just pandering. Lots of people who aren't country watch cfb. Probably most. Lots of people who are country do not watch cfb. Plus some of the teams mentioned are far from country. Michigan is in the Detroit Metro area which is like 4 million ppl.
Alright alright, I know it's just a song, but if you're going to pander at least do it right.

I thought the first couple of things too. If you went to college and ended up being a machine operator in a manufacturing plant, you would probably want your money back.

If he plans on playing that Sunday night, he may want to work Hokies in the lyrics somewhere. Otherwise he'll just hear boos whenever he mentions mountaineers, cavaliers, or buckeyes.

you may be underestimating the number of West Virginians who will be driving into town for this concert. Telling them free paisley concert is like handing out coupons for free Twinkies at an over-eaters anonymous meeting.

Kinda miffed he could work "cavaliers" into the lyrics and not Hokies but oh well, I still enjoyed it. He's reppin' his WVU love hard...
Thought the same thing. After that WVU rivalry for so many years, he probably kept Hokies out of the lyrics on purpose.
First song by him I've heard...not bad for country...
I'm going to be happy when Brad Paisley is never a discussion point on TKP again.
amen to that. I bet that jerk likes cake to top it all off.
You must haven't tried red velvet cake
Dude, it's just red colored chocolate cake. It's a big lie with cream cheese icing!
I have to discount the video because it actually has the wahoo mascot actually blocking someone. They don't know what blocking is.
Mike London has already offered him a scholarship

from reddit CFB:
They moved Ann Arbor to Detroit?
I guess you could call Ann Arbor a suburb of Detroit. I think it's only like 50 miles from Detroit
That would be like saying LOLUVA is in Richmond.
is richmond as big as detroit though?
