ACC Digital Network's Video of VT's Top 5 Program Wins

interesting choice of games (i would have added our win against Texas, IMO), but it was fun watching the highlights again:

Great list! We will have a new one after Monday!

Disagree on Nebraska '09 and WVU '04. Both were awesome games in their own right, but neither were particularly significant and there is no way that WVU ended our title hopes in '03; they may have beaten us badly but that season just didn't go well.

Hello, '95 Sugar Bowl - VT coming out party? '03 Miami - highest-ranked team we've ever beaten?

Yeah I wasn't sure the WVU game was on the list, much less #1. I do love seeing the Nebraska game on the list, though they didn't use the right highlight from that drive.

Not sure how the '99 WVU game didn't make that list. If we lost no way we got into the national championship that year.

No Texas Sugar Bowl? Yea right

I think they're only looking at games during our ACC era in which case that takes away a bunch of those Big East victories like '99 WVU, '95 Sugar Bowl, and others.

That's principally why I disagree with their list. They say "program history" but they really mean "program history during the ACC era," in which case they should just say "since 2004."

"Exit light..."

I mean he explicitly says in VT history, but in the post 2004 case why not include our only BCS win?

He even goes so far to say "Hint: They're all in the Frank Beamer era".

Well, if we're just talking ACC years, then duh!

I was unimpressed by WVU being #1.

I don't mind the list, although provided they've limited this to the scope of wins since we joined the ACC, I don't really agree with the 04 WVU game being the top one. I'd have rather seen the 07 ACCCG on there (sweet BC revenge catapulting us to a #3 BCS ranking), and possibly the 2010 NC State game (since it was our largest comeback victory under Beamer to that point).

If it's truly program history 03 Miami would be #1 for me and the 95 Sugar Bowl would be #2 with last year's OSU #3. After that I guess I'd likely include the 2010 ACC Title Game as #4 and 07 ACC Title Game as #5. I think hardware matters in these lists although the ACCDN didn't really seem to consider that.

Don't like the Nebraska game at number 5. How could Miami in '03 not be in this list? Should have been #1. Texas absolutely should've been in there. LSU in '02 might deserve to be in there as well.

Even if that list is only supposed to be from when we joined the ACC, it's still an awful list. Where are the two wins over BC in the ACC title game, the Orange Bowl victory, or the stomping of WVU in Morgantown, which was the only loss for them that year?

That really was a very poor list, even if I liked watching the highlights.

Definitely don't understand #1 at all. Don't get me wrong, it's ALWAYS great to beat the Cousins, but that was definitely not the best of the bunch. Also, I'd have given consideration for our win at aTm being on the list. First time a nonconference team waltz into Kyle Field and beat them in how long?

"Badges? We don't need no stinking badges!"

I also think when Beamer finally got the monkey off his back (Bobby Bowden) when VT beat Florida State in 2007 was also a bigger game than the WVU game.

Yeah, the FSU game involved field rushing.
