Is anyone else falling prey to this?
Last night as I was digesting the loss, I thought, hey, Motley has to have some upside, because he had that TD drive against Miami late in the game last year.
Nope, that was Leal.
In the fallout after the game, somebody mentioned they have to faith in Motley because he looked as clueless coming into the game in relief as he did two years ago in the Sun Bowl.
Also Leal.
Is this a thing? It bit me and at least one other person. Is anyone else having the careers of Leal and Motley kind of meshing in their heads?

Wait, I always thought they were the same guy...

Shesh
For a period of several years, I thought Rece Davis and Chris Fowler were the same guy. Now, I know that Fowler is just what Davis will look like in 20 years.
Oh, back on topic...kinda sorta. I saw the similarities, which was more troubling to me. Backup QB with limited playbook gets thrown into bad situation...ugh.
You're definitely not alone.
There have been a lot of comments about how people thought Chris and Rece were the same person and I haven't been able to decipher which ones were serious and which ones were just joking.
I'm guilty of this as well. I was referencing Leal when I saw Motley head in and immediately said, "he's going to throw an INT, just watch, it always happens." The fact that he then threw an INT... coincidence or no?
I hope Motley gets his chance to get out of Leal's shadow.
Situation-wise, possibly.
Skill-set wise, not quite. If I were an opposing defender, Leal wouldn't have scared me at all as a runner.
After Motley's TD pass last night, I absolutely thought about the diving throw that got intercepted in the Sun Bowl, and thought "Well, he's come a long way"

Glad I'm not the only one....
I caught the Sun Bowl reference but only because the situation was very similar, eerily similar. Although, both Leal and Motley (when in similar situations) had that deer in the headlight, and WTH do I do now look.
