Malcolm Askew, a 4* 2017 FS/QB from Alabama has a massive offer list, but tweeted a few days ago that he still wants a few more offers, including from Virginia Tech:
TOP 10 SCHOOLS THAT WOULD TOTALLY IMPACT MY RECRUITMENT IN A BIG WAY IF THEY OFFERED

Sure wouldn't mind adding a top 150 recruit into next years class.

Send this man a damn offer!
This seems like a trap... Kipp! Obliterate his scholarship offer at once!

methinks he is just trying to collect the most offers of the 2017 cycle..
Idk...the cynic in me says he only wants a huge offer list to bloat his own ego...
I think this is a brilliant idea.
If...
- he has done his due diligence first (sending tape, a cover letter, and a cv to those schools)
- he hasn't received any contact back from them, or some contact that didn't result in an offer
- he has the skills
...then why not! I even think he phrased this well, indicating that there are schools out there he is interested in without saying anything remotely negative about any of the schools that have offered him. I think this is a smart use of social media, and done pretty well.
But the cynic in me thinks he could be just looking to pad his offer list.
Not knowing anything about the kid, it's hard to speculate.
Is there no Turkey emoji?????!!
Edit - there is not. What the duck.
Meh, this kids is just begging for attention and collecting offers, don't waste any Hokie stationary on him...
UGA all the way.
Big difference between wanting an offer from Virginia Tech and wanting to go to Virginia Tech...seems like the type of kid who's trying to show off and get as many offers as possible.
Does it hurt so much to watch a few hours of tape on the kid? Why not investigate the guy, maybe it'll turn out well for us!
Perhaps he just hasn't the offers from the schools he is really interested in. It's his way of saying he's worthy a look by them.
No problems offering this kid...in person, when he attends a camp or an event, thereby proving his interest in the program is genuine.
Alabama recruits always make the think of the legendary footballer/rapper Montavis Pitts, a one-time VT commit.
a lot of jumping to conclusions in this thread based on a simple tweet.
I don't blame him. He's just working with what's available in the modern world. So we need to get this kid and get some reverse publicity. And then sign 85 more like in the Coffey years. Promise them cars, houses, girls or goats - whatever their preference. Plead, "UNC did it" and sue, tie it up in court for decades saying that rules are for all the others and when all the wins are vacated we'll all be dead and our great, great grandkids won't be speaking English anyway. They'll just have something wired into their brains.
I agree. Someone get a truckload of fire wood to this kid, stat!
If TG likes his film, offer him. I agree it's probably just trying to get more offers, but you can't land them if you don't offer them and the more high profile kids we get to visit the better.
I'm glad VT is on his list, but it's pretty clear he's just collecting offers, so it's difficult to take him seriously.
Offer him a trip out. If he shows up, he's interested enough to make an offer.
not to mention his HUDL is private.. nothing to see here VT move along!
Going to show my ignorance here. Can anyone explain what the emoji mean? USC is 2 hearts; VT is circle and diamond. I don't understand. Or direct me to a site that explains. thanks,
it looks like its the colors of the school..
I did notice that some of the colors matched; but since VT was silver and orange, not maroon and orange, it did not click for me. He can't be very serious about VT if he does not know our colors. Or, is there no maroon emoji?
no maroon emoji.

Sorry that did not work. supposed to be a turkey emoji.
It won't work on Twitter. Not sure why we can't get a turkey on Twitter.
